7.1. Alif - Lâm - Mîm - Sâd.

7.2. C'est un Livre qui t'est révélé. Que ton cœur ne ressente aucune angoisse à son sujet ! Il te servira à avertir les hommes et à adresser un rappel aux croyants.

7.3. Suivez ce qui vous a été révélé de la part de votre Seigneur et ne suivez aucun autre maître que Lui ! Mais c'est bien peu que vous vous en souveniez !

7.4. Que de cités n'avons-Nous pas anéanties ! Notre châtiment les a frappées pendant leur sommeil, dans la nuit, ou pendant leur sieste de la journée.

7.5. Et lorsque Notre rigueur s'est abattue sur elles, elles n'eurent qu'un seul cri : «Oui, nous avons été injustes !»

7.6. Certes, Nous interrogerons ceux à qui les messages ont été envoyés et Nous interrogerons également les messagers.

7.7. Nous leur relaterons leur histoire en toute connaissance, car Nous n'avons jamais cessé de les observer.

7.8. Et, ce jour-là, la pesée sera équitable. Ceux dont les bonnes actions pèseront lourd seront les bienheureux,

7.9. tandis que ceux dont les bonnes œuvres ne feront pas le poids, pour avoir été injustes envers Nos signes, seront des damnés.

7.10. Nous vous avons installés sur la Terre et Nous vous y avons pourvus de multiples ressources. Mais vous en êtes rarement reconnaissants !

7.11. Nous vous avons créés, Nous vous avons modelés, puis Nous avons dit aux anges : «Prosternez-vous devant Adam !» Tous s'exécutèrent, Satan seul refusa de s'incliner.

7.12. «Pourquoi, lui dit le Seigneur, ne t'es-tu pas prosterné, comme Je te l'ai ordonné?» – «Je suis meilleur que lui, répondit Satan. Tu m'as tiré du feu, alors que Tu l'as créé d'argile !»

7.13. – «Descends d'ici, dit alors le Seigneur. Il ne te sied pas de t'enorgueillir en ces lieux. Hors d'ici, méprisable que tu es !»

7.14. – «Accorde-moi un délai, demanda Satan, jusqu'au jour où les hommes seront ressuscités.»

7.15. – «Ce délai t'est accordé», dit le Seigneur.

7.16. – «Puisque Tu as décrété ma perte, reprit Satan, je guetterai désormais les hommes le long de la Voie droite,

7.17. pour les harceler, par-devant et par-derrière, sur leur gauche et sur leur droite, en sorte que Tu en trouveras bien peu qui Te seront reconnaissants !»

7.18. – «Hors d'ici, dit le Seigneur, couvert d'opprobre et à jamais banni ! De tous ceux parmi eux qui t'auront suivi et de toi-même, Je remplirai la Géhenne !

7.19. Quant à toi, Adam, habite le Paradis, toi et ton épouse. Mangez de ses fruits à votre guise ! Mais n'approchez, sous aucun prétexte, de l'arbre que voici ! Sinon, vous seriez du nombre des injustes.»

7.20. Mais Satan s'employa à les tenter, afin de découvrir à leurs yeux les parties de leurs corps tenues jusqu'alors cachées, en leur disant : «Votre Seigneur ne vous a interdit cet arbre que pour vous empêcher de devenir des anges ou des immortels.

7.21. Je suis pour vous, leur jura-t-il, un conseiller sincère.»

7.22. Et il réussit ainsi à les séduire par ses supercheries. Mais lorsqu'ils eurent goûté à l'arbre, ils virent apparaître leur nudité qu'ils s'empressèrent de couvrir avec des feuilles du Paradis. Le Seigneur les interpella alors : «Ne vous ai-Je pas interdit cet arbre? Ne vous ai-Je pas dit que Satan était votre ennemi déclaré?»

7.23. – «Seigneur, dirent Adam et son épouse, nous avons agi injustement envers nous-mêmes. Si Tu ne nous pardonnes pas, et si Tu nous refuses Ta grâce, nous serons à jamais perdus.»

7.24. – «Descendez, dit le Seigneur. Vous serez ennemis les uns des autres sur Terre où vous trouverez un séjour et une jouissance temporaires.»

7.25. Et Il ajouta : «C'est là où vous vivrez, c'est là où vous mourrez et c'est de là qu'on vous fera sortir un jour !»

7.26. Ô fils d'Adam ! Nous vous avons dotés de vêtements pour couvrir votre nudité, ainsi que de parures. Mais le meilleur vêtement est la crainte révérencielle du Seigneur ! C'est là un des signes de Dieu. Peut-être s'en souviendront-ils !

7.27. Ô fils d'Adam ! Ne vous laissez pas tenter par Satan, comme vos parents qu'il a fait sortir du Paradis, en les dépouillant de leurs vêtements pour leur montrer leur nudité, car lui et sa cohorte ne cessent de vous observer alors que vous, vous ne les voyez pas. Nous avons fait des démons les alliés des négateurs

7.28. qui disent quand ils commettent une turpitude : «C'est une coutume que nos ancêtres nous ont léguée et que Dieu a ordonné d'observer !» Dis-leur : «Dieu n'ordonne jamais de commettre des turpitudes. Allez-vous attribuer à Dieu des choses dont vous n'avez aucune connaissance?»

7.29. Dis-leur : «Mon Seigneur ordonne l'équité, comme Il vous ordonne de vous adresser exclusivement à Lui dans chaque prière, et de L'invoquer toujours d'une foi pure et sincère, car, de même qu'Il vous a créés pour la première fois, Il vous ressuscitera pour vous ramener tous à Lui,

7.30. aussi bien ceux qu'Il a mis sur la bonne voie que ceux qui ont mérité d'être égarés, pour avoir pris, en dehors de Dieu, les démons pour maîtres et alliés, pensant qu'ils étaient bien guidés.»

7.31. Ô fils d'Adam ! Mettez vos plus beaux habits à chaque prière ! Mangez et buvez en évitant tout excès ! Dieu n'aime pas les outranciers.

7.32. Dis : «Qui a déclaré illicites les parures et les mets succulents dont Dieu a gratifié Ses serviteurs?» Réponds : «Ils sont destinés en cette vie aux croyants et ils seront leur apanage dans la vie future.» C'est ainsi que Nous exposons clairement Nos signes à des gens qui comprennent.

7.33. Dis encore : «Mon Seigneur a interdit seulement les turpitudes apparentes ou occultes, le mal et toute violence injustifiée , de même qu'Il a interdit de Lui prêter des associés qu'Il n'a jamais accrédités et de dire de Lui des choses dont vous n'avez aucune connaissance.»

7.34. À chaque communauté humaine un terme est fixé , et quand ce terme échoit, nul ne peut, ne serait-ce que d'une heure, ni le retarder ni l'avancer.

7.35. Ô fils d'Adam ! Si des prophètes issus de vous-mêmes viennent vous rappeler Mes enseignements, sachez que quiconque aura cru et fait le bien ne connaîtra ni crainte ni tristesse ,

7.36. tandis que ceux qui auront traité Nos signes de mensonges et qui, par orgueil, s'en seront détournés, ceux-là seront voués à l'Enfer pour l'éternité,

7.37. car qui est plus injuste que celui qui forge des mensonges sur le compte de Dieu ou qui traite Ses signes d'imposture? Ceux qui s'en rendent coupables auront, certes, la part qui leur est destinée , mais lorsque les anges de la mort viendront recueillir leur âme, ils leur demanderont : «Où sont donc ceux que vous invoquiez en dehors de Dieu?» Et ils répondront : «Ils nous ont bel et bien abandonnés», témoignant ainsi contre eux-mêmes qu'ils étaient infidèles.

7.38. Et Dieu leur dira alors : «Allez rejoindre en Enfer les générations de djinns et d'hommes qui vous ont précédés !» Et chaque fois qu'une communauté y pénétrera, elle maudira son aînée, jusqu'au moment où elles seront toutes réunies. Alors la dernière entrée dira de la première arrivée : «Voilà, Seigneur, ceux qui nous ont égarés ! Double donc leur châtiment par le feu !» Le Seigneur répondra : «À chacun de vous sera infligé un double châtiment, mais vous ne le saviez pas jusqu'à présent !»

7.39. Et la première fournée dira aux derniers arrivés : «Vous ne valez guère mieux que nous. Goûtez donc le supplice que vous avez mérité par vos crimes !»

7.40. Ceux qui traitent Nos signes de mensonges et s'en détournent avec dédain, ceux-là ne verront jamais s'ouvrir devant eux les portes du Ciel ni n'auront accès au Paradis que quand le chameau aura traversé le chas d'une aiguille ! C'est ainsi que Nous rétribuons les criminels

7.41. qui auront pour lit le brasier de l'Enfer et pour couverture des flammes ardentes. C'est ainsi que Nous rétribuons les injustes.

7.42. Mais à ceux qui croient et font le bien, Nous n'imposerons aucune charge qui soit au-dessus de leurs moyens. Et ceux-là auront le Paradis pour séjour éternel.

7.43. Nous extirperons toute haine de leurs cœurs, et des ruisseaux couleront à leurs pieds. Alors, ils s'écrieront : «Louange à Dieu qui nous a conduits en ce lieu ! Si Dieu n'avait pas voulu nous guider dans la bonne voie, nous n'aurions jamais pu y accéder. Ainsi, tout ce que les envoyés de notre Seigneur nous avaient annoncé s'est réalisé !» Et, au même moment, une voix les interpellera : «Voici le Paradis ! C'est l'héritage qui vous échoit pour prix de vos bonnes œuvres.»

7.44. Et les habitants du Paradis crieront aux habitants de l'Enfer : «Voilà que se réalise pour nous la promesse de notre Seigneur ! Et celle qu'Il vous a faite se réalise-t-elle?» – «C'est fait !», répondront-ils. Un crieur proclamera alors au milieu d'eux : «Que la malédiction de Dieu s'abatte sur les coupables,

7.45. qui détournaient leurs semblables de la Voie de leur Seigneur, voulant la rendre tortueuse, et qui ne croyaient pas à la vie future !»

7.46. Et entre les deux séjours et au-dessus des murailles (al-A`râf) qui les séparent se tiendront des hommes qui, reconnaissant chacun à son signe distinctif, diront aux habitants du Paradis : «Que la paix soit avec vous !», sans pouvoir les y rejoindre eux-mêmes malgré leur vif désir de le faire.

7.47. Puis, lorsque leur regard tombera sur les habitants de l'Enfer, ils imploreront : «Seigneur, ne nous réunis pas avec ces pervers !»

7.48. Et, s'adressant à certains damnés qu'ils reconnaîtront à leurs signes distinctifs, les gens d'al-A`râf leur diront : «Alors, à quoi vous ont servi toutes les richesses que vous aviez amassées et tout ce qui faisait l'objet de votre fierté?»

7.49. Sont-ce ceux-là au sujet desquels vous juriez qu'ils n'obtiendraient aucune grâce du Seigneur? Eh bien, heureux élus, entrez au Paradis où plus jamais vous ne connaîtrez ni crainte ni peine !

7.50. Et les hôtes de l'Enfer crieront aux hôtes du Paradis : «Répandez sur nous un peu d'eau ou un peu de ces biens que Dieu vous a accordés !» – «En vérité, leur répondront les bienheureux, Dieu a interdit l'un et l'autre aux impies

7.51. qui faisaient de leur religion un jeu et un divertissement, et qui se laissaient séduire par les plaisirs éphémères de la vie terrestre.» Ceux-là, Nous les oublierons en ce jour, comme ils en ont eux-mêmes oublié l'avènement, et ont refusé de croire à Nos enseignements.

7.52. Et pourtant Nous leur avions bien apporté une Écriture que Nous avions détaillée en toute connaissance, à titre de guide et de bénédiction pour les croyants.

7.53. Qu'attendent-ils, sinon la réalisation des prédictions de ce Livre? Mais le jour où elles se réaliseront, ceux qui l'auront auparavant oublié s'écrieront : «Les prophètes de notre Seigneur avaient donc bien prédit la vérité ! Pourrons-nous avoir des intercesseurs pour plaider en notre faveur? Ou pourrons-nous être ramenés sur Terre pour agir autrement que nous l'avions fait?» Ainsi, ils auront été les artisans de leur propre perte et les divinités qu'ils inventaient se seront à jamais évanouies !

7.54. En vérité, votre Seigneur, c'est Dieu qui a créé les Cieux et la Terre en six jours et S'est ensuite établi sur Son Trône. Il couvre le jour de la nuit que celle-ci poursuit sans arrêt. De même qu'Il a créé le Soleil, la Lune et les étoiles et les a soumis à Ses lois, car la Création et le Commandement suprême ne relèvent que de Lui. Béni soit donc Dieu, le Seigneur de l'Univers !

7.55. Invoquez votre Seigneur humblement et secrètement. En vérité, Dieu n'aime pas les transgresseurs.

7.56. Ne semez pas le désordre sur la Terre, après que l'ordre y a été établi. Invoquez votre Seigneur avec crainte et espoir. La miséricorde de Dieu est à la portée de ceux qui font des œuvres salutaires.

7.57. C'est Dieu qui envoie les vents, annonciateurs de Sa miséricorde. Et quand ils sont chargés de lourdes nuées, Nous les dirigeons vers une contrée morte de sécheresse et Nous en déversons l'eau avec laquelle Nous faisons pousser toutes sortes de fruits. C'est ainsi que Nous ressusciterons les morts. Peut-être saurez-vous y réfléchir.

7.58. Un sol généreux produit toujours, par la grâce du Seigneur, une abondante récolte, tandis que le sol ingrat ne donne qu'une maigre végétation sans grande valeur. C'est ainsi que Nous varions les exemples pour ceux qui sont reconnaissants.

7.59. Nous avons envoyé Noé à son peuple : «Ô mon peuple, dit-il, adorez Dieu ! Vous n'avez d'autre divinité que Lui. Je crains pour vous le châtiment d'un grand jour !»

7.60. Mais les chefs de son peuple lui répondirent : «Tu nous parais être en pleine extravagance !»

7.61. – «Ô mon peuple, reprit le prophète. Je ne suis nullement un égaré. Je suis seulement un envoyé du Seigneur de l'Univers !

7.62. Je viens vous communiquer les messages de mon Seigneur et vous donner de bons conseils. Je sais, de la part de Dieu, des choses que vous ne pouvez savoir.

7.63. Trouvez-vous étrange qu'un message de votre Seigneur vous soit transmis par l'intermédiaire d'un homme issu de vous-mêmes, afin de vous mettre en garde et de vous exhorter à craindre Dieu en vue de mériter Sa misé-ricorde?»

7.64. Mais ils le traitèrent de menteur. Nous le sauvâmes ainsi que ceux qui étaient avec lui sur l'arche, et Nous fîmes engloutir ceux qui traitaient Nos signes de mensonges. C'était un vrai peuple d'aveugles !

7.65. Et aux gens de `Âd Nous avons envoyé leur frère Hûd qui leur dit : «Ô mon peuple ! Adorez Dieu ! Il n'y a pour vous d'autre divinité que Lui. Ne craignez-vous pas votre Seigneur?»

7.66. Les grands de son peuple qui étaient des négateurs lui répondirent : «Nous voyons bien que tu dis des sottises et que tu ne rapportes que des mensonges !»

7.67. – «Non, reprit-il, je ne suis pas un insensé. Je suis un envoyé du Seigneur des Mondes.

7.68. Je vous apporte les messages de mon Seigneur, et je suis pour vous un conseiller digne de confiance.

7.69. Trouvez-vous étrange qu'un message de votre Seigneur vous soit transmis par l'intermédiaire d'un homme issu de vous-mêmes, afin de vous avertir? Souvenez-vous que Dieu a fait de vous les successeurs du peuple de Noé et qu'Il a accru votre puissance. Souvenez-vous des bienfaits de Dieu si vous voulez assurer votre salut.»

7.70. – «Es-tu venu nous dire, répondirent-ils, de n'adorer que Dieu seul et de renoncer à ce qu'adoraient nos pères? Fais donc surgir les malheurs dont tu nous menaces, si tu es sincère !»

7.71. – «Vous venez d'attirer sur vous la malédiction et la colère de Dieu, reprit Hûd. Allez-vous disputer avec moi sur des divinités irréelles à qui vous avez, vous-mêmes et vos pères, donné des noms et qu'aucune révélation de Dieu n'a accréditées? Attendez donc ! Je saurai attendre avec vous.»

7.72. Nous le sauvâmes alors, ainsi que ceux qui le suivaient, par un effet de Notre grâce, et exterminâmes ceux qui avaient traité Nos signes de mensonges et refusé de croire.

7.73. Aux gens de Thamûd Nous avons envoyé leur frère Sâlih qui leur dit : «Adorez Dieu ! Vous n'avez d'autre divinité que Lui. Votre Seigneur vous envoie une preuve irréfutable. Voici la chamelle de Dieu , elle est un signe pour vous. Laissez-la paître sur la terre de Dieu et ne lui faites aucun mal, sinon vous subirez un châtiment impitoyable.

7.74. Souvenez-vous que Dieu a fait de vous les successeurs de `Âd et qu'Il vous a bien établis sur la Terre, où vous avez édifié des palais dans les plaines et creusé des demeures dans les montagnes. Proclamez les bienfaits de Dieu et ne commettez pas de corruption sur la Terre !»

7.75. Les notables de son peuple, pleins d'orgueil, dirent aux faibles, parmi eux, qui s'étaient convertis : «êtes-vous bien sûrs que Sâlih soit réellement envoyé par son Dieu?» – «Oui, répondirent les croyants, nous avons entièrement foi dans le message qu'il vous a transmis !»

7.76. – «Et nous, répliquèrent les arrogants, nous renions absolument ce en quoi vous croyez !»

7.77. Puis, désobéissant aux ordres de leur Seigneur, ils égorgèrent la chamelle et dirent à Sâlih : «Exécute maintenant les menaces que tu brandis contre nous, si tu es vraiment un prophète !»

7.78. C'est alors que le cataclysme vint les surprendre et que, le lendemain matin, leurs demeures étaient jonchées de leurs cadavres.

7.79. Puis Sâlih se retira en disant : «Ô mon peuple ! Je vous ai bien transmis le message de mon Seigneur. Je vous ai loyalement conseillés, mais vous n'aimez pas entendre les bons conseils !»

7.80. Rappelez-vous aussi Loth, quand il dit à son peuple : «Comment osez-vous pratiquer un vice qu'aucun peuple avant vous n'avait pratiqué?

7.81. Vous vous obstinez à assouvir vos désirs charnels sur les hommes, plutôt que sur les femmes ! N'est-ce pas là l'œuvre d'un peuple pervers?»

7.82. Mais, pour toute réponse, son peuple s'écria : «Bannissez de votre cité ces faux puritains ! Nous n'en avons que faire !»

7.83. Cependant, Nous sauvâmes Loth et les siens, excepté sa femme qui eut le même sort que ceux qui devaient périr.

7.84. Nous fîmes tomber sur eux une pluie de pierres d'argile. Observe comment finissent les criminels !

7.85. Aux habitants de Madyan fut envoyé leur frère Shu`ayb. «Ô mon peuple, leur dit-il, adorez Dieu ! Il n'y a pour vous d'autre divinité que Lui. Votre Seigneur vous envoie un signe irréfutable. Donnez bon poids et juste mesure ! Ne frustrez pas les gens de leurs biens ! Ne semez pas le désordre sur la Terre après que l'ordre y a été établi ! Cela vous sera profitable, si vous avez la foi.

7.86. Ne vous portez pas sur tous les chemins pour terroriser les croyants et les détourner de la Voie de Dieu, cette Voie droite que vous cherchez à rendre tortueuse ! Souvenez-vous du petit nombre que vous étiez avant qu'Il ne fît de vous un peuple prospère. Considérez quelle a été la fin des pervers !

7.87. S'il en est parmi vous un certain nombre pour croire à ma mission alors que d'autres n'y ont pas cru, patientez jusqu'à ce que Dieu nous départage, car Il est le Meilleur des juges !»

7.88. Mais les chefs de son peuple, enflés d'orgueil, répliquèrent : «Ô Shu`ayb ! Nous te chasserons de notre cité, ainsi que ceux qui ont cru avec toi, à moins que vous ne reveniez à notre culte.» – «Comment !, riposta Shu`ayb. Y revenir, même si nous l'avons en aversion !

7.89. Ce serait de notre part une véritable trahison à l'encontre de Dieu que de revenir à votre religion après qu'Il nous en a délivrés. Il n'est donc plus question pour nous d'y retourner, à moins que Dieu, notre Seigneur dont la science embrasse toute chose, ne le veuille ! C'est en Lui que nous mettons notre confiance. Seigneur ! Veuille trancher, en toute équité, le différend qui nous oppose à notre peuple, car Tu es le Meilleur des juges !»

7.90. Et les négateurs parmi les notables de son peuple dirent : «Si vous suivez Shu`ayb, vous êtes assurément perdants.»

7.91. Alors un violent tremblement les secoua. Et le lendemain, ils gisaient, inanimés, dans leurs demeures.

7.92. Ainsi fut la fin de ceux qui avaient traité Shu`ayb d'imposteur, comme s'ils n'avaient jamais hanté ces demeures , ce sont eux qui furent les perdants.

7.93. Shu`ayb s'éloigna alors d'eux en disant : «Ô mon peuple ! Je vous ai transmis les messages de mon Seigneur. Je vous ai prodigué les conseils les plus salutaires. Après tout, dois-je m'affliger sur le sort d'un peuple infidèle?»

7.94. C'est ainsi que Nous n'avons jamais dépêché un prophète dans une cité sans accabler ses habitants de malheurs et de calamités, afin de les inciter à reconnaître leurs péchés et à s'en repentir.

7.95. Puis Nous substituions le bonheur à l'adversité, si bien que, se sentant en pleine prospérité, ces gens-là finissaient par dire : «Après tout, nos pères ont déjà connu aussi bien le bonheur que le malheur !» C'est alors que Nous les saisissions à l'improviste, au moment où ils s'y attendaient le moins.

7.96. Et si les habitants de ces cités avaient cru et avaient craint Dieu, Nous aurions à coup sûr répandu sur eux des bénédictions du Ciel et de la Terre , mais ils ont crié au mensonge. Aussi les avons-Nous sanctionnés en raison de leurs péchés.

7.97. Ces gens-là étaient-ils sûrs que Notre châtiment ne viendrait pas les frapper de nuit, en plein sommeil?

7.98. Ou que Nos supplices ne s'abattraient pas sur eux en plein jour, au milieu de leurs divertissements et de leurs plaisirs?

7.99. Se sentaient-ils à l'abri des ripostes divines? Or, seuls les perdants croient échapper à la rigueur du Seigneur.

7.100. N'a-t-Il pas montré à ceux qui ont hérité de la Terre après ses anciens occupants que si Nous le voulions, Nous les punirions pour leurs crimes et scellerions leurs cœurs au point qu'ils n'entendraient plus rien?

7.101. Telles sont les cités dont Nous te relatons quelques-unes des histoires. Des prophètes leur furent envoyés avec des preuves. Mais leurs habitants n'étaient pas prêts à croire à ce qu'ils avaient auparavant renié. C'est ainsi que Dieu scelle à jamais le cœur des infidèles.

7.102. Nous n'avons trouvé, chez la plupart d'entre eux, aucune trace de fidélité à leurs engagements. Nous avons, en revanche, constaté que la plupart d'entre eux étaient pervers.

7.103. Après ces prophètes, Nous avons envoyé Moïse avec Nos signes à Pharaon et aux dignitaires de son peuple qui ont commis l'injustice de les renier. Considère donc quelle fut la fin des corrupteurs !

7.104. «Ô Pharaon, dit Moïse, je suis un messager du Seigneur de l'Univers.

7.105. Il est de mon devoir de ne dire sur Dieu que la vérité. Je vous apporte une preuve évidente de votre Seigneur. Laisse donc partir avec moi les fils d'Israël !»

7.106. – «Tu prétends apporter une preuve, dit Pharaon. Produis-la donc, si tu es sincère !»

7.107. Moïse jeta alors son bâton, et aussitôt celui-ci se mua en véritable serpent ,

7.108. puis il étendit la main, et elle apparut toute blanche aux spectateurs.

7.109. «Ne voilà-t-il pas, s'écria l'entourage de Pharaon, un magicien fort habile?

7.110. Il veut vous chasser de votre terre ! Qu'ordonnez-vous donc de faire?

7.111. Fais-le attendre, lui et son frère, et envoie dans toutes les villes des émissaires

7.112. pour t'amener tout homme versé dans la magie.»

7.113. Réunis chez Pharaon, les magiciens lui dirent : «Nous aurons certainement une récompense si nous sommes les vainqueurs !»

7.114. – «Bien sûr, dit Pharaon, mieux encore, vous siégerez parmi les membres de ma cour.»

7.115. Les magiciens dirent alors à Moïse : «Veux-tu commencer ou est-ce nous qui commençons?»

7.116. – «Commencez !», répondit Moïse. Et aussitôt qu'ils eurent jeté leurs sorts, ils fascinèrent la foule, lui inspirèrent une grande frayeur et déployèrent une magie extraordinaire !

7.117. Nous inspirâmes alors à Moïse de jeter son bâton qui, aussitôt, se mit à engloutir ce que les magiciens avaient inventé.

7.118. Et c'est ainsi que la vérité éclata, mettant en échec toutes leurs manœuvres.

7.119. Vaincus et humiliés,

7.120. les magiciens se prosternèrent face contre terre,

7.121. en disant : «Nous croyons au Maître de l'Univers,

7.122. au Dieu de Moïse et d'Aaron !»

7.123. – «Comment osez-vous, s'écria Pharaon, vous convertir à son culte sans que je vous y autorise? C'est là un complot que vous avez ourdi dans la cité pour en chasser les habitants ! Vous allez voir !

7.124. Je vous ferai couper une main d'un côté et un pied de l'autre, avant de vous faire tous crucifier !»

7.125. – «Qu'importe, répondirent-ils, puisque c'est à notre Seigneur que se fera notre retour !

7.126. Au fond, qu'as-tu à nous reprocher, sinon d'avoir ajouté foi aux signes de notre Seigneur quand ils se sont manifestés à nous? Seigneur ! Fortifie notre patience et fais-nous mourir en croyants soumis à Ta loi !»

7.127. Alors les dignitaires du royaume de Pharaon s'écrièrent : «Vas-tu laisser Moïse et son peuple semer le désordre dans le pays et entraîner ta déchéance et celle de tes divinités?» – «Nous mettrons à mort, répondit Pharaon, leurs fils et conserverons la vie à leurs filles. De toute façon, nous les tenons à notre merci !»

7.128. – «Demandez l'assistance de Dieu, dit Moïse à son peuple, et soyez patients ! La Terre est à Dieu. Il la donne en héritage à qui Il veut parmi Ses serviteurs, et l'heureuse fin est à ceux qui Le craignent.»

7.129. – «Nous avons été maltraités, lui dirent-ils, avant ton arrivée et nous le sommes encore !» – «Peut-être votre Seigneur fera-t-Il périr votre ennemi, reprit Moïse, et fera-t-Il de vous Ses héritiers sur la Terre, pour voir comment vous vous y comporterez?»

7.130. Nous infligeâmes alors au peuple de Pharaon des années de sécheresse et de mauvaises récoltes, à titre d'avertissement.

7.131. Un bienfait leur arrivait-il, ils disaient : «Cela nous est dû !» , mais quand un malheur les frappait, ils qualifiaient Moïse et ses compagnons d'oiseaux de mauvais augure, alors que leur sort dépendait uniquement de leur Seigneur. Mais la plupart d'entre eux ne s'en doutaient guère.

7.132. Ils disaient à Moïse : «Quel que soit le signe que tu nous apportes pour nous fasciner, nous ne serons jamais disposés à te croire !»

7.133. C'est alors que Nous envoyâmes contre eux le déluge, les sauterelles, la vermine, les grenouilles et le sang, en autant d'avertissements distincts. Mais ils s'obstinèrent dans leur orgueil, car c'était un peuple criminel.

7.134. Et chaque fois que le châtiment tombait sur eux, ils disaient : «Ô Moïse ! Invoque ton Seigneur en notre faveur suivant l'alliance qu'Il a conclue avec toi. Si tu écartes de nous ce malheur, nous croirons en toi et nous laisserons partir avec toi les fils d'Israël.»

7.135. Mais une fois que Nous les eûmes arrachés à leur détresse pour le temps que Nous avions fixé, ils trahirent leurs serments.

7.136. Nous sévîmes alors contre eux en les engloutissant dans la mer pour avoir douté de Nos signes et les avoir méconnus.

7.137. Et Nous donnâmes en héritage au peuple, naguère opprimé, les contrées orientales et occidentales que Nous avions bénies. Et c'est ainsi que se trouva réalisée la belle promesse de ton Seigneur aux fils d'Israël, en récompense de leur constance. Nous détruisîmes tous les ouvrages que Pharaon et son peuple avaient édifiés ou érigés.

7.138. Nous fîmes traverser la mer aux fils d'Israël et ils rencontrèrent un peuple qui vouait un culte assidu à ses idoles. Ils lui dirent alors : «Ô Moïse ! Fais-nous un dieu semblable aux leurs !» – «Bande d'insensés que vous êtes !, leur répondit Moïse.

7.139. Le culte que professent ces gens-là les conduit à la ruine, et tout ce qu'ils font est nul et sans valeur !»

7.140. Et il ajouta : «Dois-je choisir pour vous une autre divinité que Dieu, qui vous a préférés à tous les peuples de la Terre?»

7.141. Souvenez-vous lorsque Nous vous avons délivrés des gens de Pharaon qui vous infligeaient les pires châtiments, tuant vos fils et épargnant vos filles. Ce fut là une terrible épreuve de la part de votre Seigneur !

7.142. Nous fixâmes à Moïse un rendez-vous pour trente nuits, que Nous complétâmes par dix autres, en sorte que son entretien avec Dieu devait durer quarante nuits. Moïse dit alors à son frère Aaron : «Remplace-moi auprès de mon peuple , agis avec justice et ne suis pas le chemin des pervers.»

7.143. Lorsque Moïse vint à Notre rencontre et que son Seigneur lui eut adressé la parole, il dit : «Seigneur, montre-Toi à moi pour que je Te voie !» – «Non, tu ne Me verras pas, répliqua le Seigneur. Mais regarde plutôt la montagne. Si elle reste immobile à sa place, tu pourras alors Me voir.» Et lorsque son Seigneur se manifesta à la montagne, Il la réduisit en poussière, et Moïse tomba foudroyé. Revenu à lui, il s'écria : «Gloire à Toi ! Je reviens à Toi, plein de repentir, et je suis le premier des croyants.»

7.144. – «Ô Moïse, dit le Seigneur, Je t'ai élu d'entre les hommes pour te confier Mon message et t'adresser Ma parole. Prends ce que Je te donne et sois-en reconnaissant !»

7.145. Nous avons inscrit pour lui sur les Tables une règle morale à observer en toute circonstance, ainsi qu'un clair exposé de toute chose et lui avons dit : «Observe-les avec fermeté et ordonne à ton peuple de se conformer à ce qu'ils contiennent de meilleur. Je vous ferai bientôt voir la demeure des pervers.

7.146. Je priverai de Mes signes ceux qui affichent sans raison leur orgueil sur Terre, qui refusent de croire à tout signe qu'ils voient et qui, apercevant la voie de la droiture, s'en écartent obstinément , mais, voyant celle de l'égarement, ils s'y engagent résolument. Il en est ainsi parce qu'ils ont traité Nos signes de mensonges et qu'ils s'y sont montrés indifférents !»

7.147. Ainsi seront vaines les œuvres de ceux qui auront renié Nos signes et la vie future. Méritent-ils d'être rétribués autrement que selon leurs œuvres?

7.148. Pendant l'absence de Moïse, son peuple avait façonné avec leurs parures le corps d'un veau doué de mugissement. Ne s'étaient-ils pas rendu compte que ce veau ne pouvait ni leur parler ni leur être utile en quoi que ce soit? Toujours est-il qu'ils le prirent pour divinité, faisant ainsi preuve d'iniquité.

7.149. Puis, complètement déçus, ils reconnurent leur erreur, et s'écrièrent : «Si notre Seigneur ne nous fait pas miséricorde et ne nous pardonne pas, nous serons très certainement du nombre des perdants.»

7.150. Lorsque Moïse revint vers son peuple, il dit, plein de colère et d'amertume : «Quelle conduite lamentable a été la vôtre pendant mon absence ! Avez-vous voulu hâter le décret de votre Seigneur?» Puis, jetant les Tables, il empoigna par les cheveux son frère et se mit à le tirer vers lui. «Ô fils de ma mère !, s'écria Aaron. Ces gens-là ont profité de ma faiblesse et ont failli me tuer. Ne réjouis donc pas à mes dépens nos adversaires et ne me range pas parmi les pervers !»

7.151. – «Seigneur, dit Moïse, pardonne-moi, ainsi qu'à mon frère ! Reçois-nous au sein de Ta miséricorde, car Ta miséricorde n'a point d'égale !»

7.152. En vérité, ceux qui ont pris le veau pour divinité encourront la colère de leur Seigneur et l'avilissement dans ce bas monde. C'est ainsi que Nous rétribuons les menteurs.

7.153. Ceux qui après avoir commis des péchés se repentent et retrouvent la foi, Dieu sera Indulgent et Miséricordieux à leur égard.

7.154. Lorsque la colère de Moïse se fut apaisée, il reprit les Tables, dont le texte constituait une direction et une grâce pour ceux qui craignent leur Seigneur.

7.155. Et il choisit soixante-dix hommes parmi son peuple, pour l'accompagner à Notre rendez-vous. Mais lorsqu'ils furent saisis par le cataclysme, Moïse dit : «Seigneur ! Si Tu l'avais voulu, Tu les aurais déjà fait périr, et moi avec eux. Vas-Tu nous faire périr pour des péchés que des sots d'entre nous ont commis? Ce n'est là qu'une épreuve de Ta part par laquelle Tu égares qui Tu veux et diriges qui Tu veux. Tu es notre Maître ! Pardonne-nous et reçois-nous au sein de Ta miséricorde, car Tu es le Meilleur des absoluteurs !

7.156. Réserve-nous un heureux destin en ce monde et en la vie future ! Nous revenons à Toi, pleins de repentir.» – «Mon châtiment, dit le Seigneur, tombera sur qui Je veux, et Ma miséricorde embrasse toute chose , Je la destine à ceux qui Me craignent, qui font la zakât et qui croient en Nos signes ,

7.157. à ceux qui suivront l'Envoyé, qui est le Prophète illettré qu'ils trouvent mentionné chez eux dans le Pentateuque et l'Évangile, et qui leur recommande le Bien et leur interdit le Mal, qui déclare licite pour eux ce qui est bon et illicite ce qui est impur, qui les soulage de leur fardeau et les délivre de leurs chaînes. Ceux qui auront cru en lui, qui l'auront secouru et soutenu, qui auront pris pour guide la lumière descendue avec lui, ceux-là connaîtront le vrai bonheur.»

7.158. Dis : «Ô hommes ! Je suis, en toute vérité, le Prophète de Dieu, envoyé à vous tous par Celui à qui appartient le Royaume des Cieux et de la Terre. Il n'y a de divinité que Lui. C'est Lui qui fait vivre et mourir. Croyez donc en Dieu et en Son Envoyé, le Prophète que les hommes n'ont pas instruit, qui a foi en Dieu et en Ses paroles ! Suivez-le ! Vous n'en serez que mieux guidés !»

7.159. Parmi le peuple de Moïse, il y a des gens qui se laissent guider par la vérité et qui, quand ils rendent un jugement, le font avec équité.

7.160. Nous avons réparti les fils d'Israël en douze tribus formant douze communautés. Et lorsque le peuple de Moïse lui demanda de l'eau, Nous lui révélâmes : «Frappe le rocher de ton bâton.» Aussitôt douze sources en jaillirent et chaque tribu sut à quelle source elle devait se désaltérer. Puis Nous étendîmes sur eux l'ombre d'un nuage et fîmes descendre sur eux la manne et les cailles. «Mangez de ces bons mets que Nous vous octroyons.» C'est donc non pas à Nous qu'ils ont fait du tort, mais bien à eux-mêmes.

7.161. Rappelez-vous lorsqu'on leur avait dit : «Installez-vous dans cette ville et mangez de ses produits, partout où vous voudrez , mais demandez, en y entrant, la rémission de vos péchés, et franchissez-en la porte en vous prosternant. Vos fautes seront alors pardonnées et une meilleure récompense sera attribuée aux vertueux d'entre vous.»

7.162. Or, ceux d'entre eux qui étaient injustes substituèrent d'autres paroles au message qu'ils avaient reçu. Aussi fîmes-Nous descendre sur eux un châtiment du ciel, en sanction de leur iniquité.

7.163. Interroge-les sur cette cité sise au bord de la mer, dont les habitants ne respectaient pas le repos du samedi, et auxquels les poissons ne se montraient plus à la surface de l'eau que le jour du Sabbat et disparaissaient les jours où il leur était permis de les pêcher. C'est ainsi que Nous les éprouvions pour les punir de leur perversité.

7.164. Souvenez-vous lorsqu'un groupe d'entre eux dit aux autres : «Pourquoi exhortez-vous ces gens que Dieu va bientôt anéantir ou soumettre à un terrible châtiment?» – «C'est pour dégager notre responsabilité vis-à-vis de votre Seigneur, répondirent-ils, et aussi dans l'espoir de les amener à Le craindre.»

7.165. Puis lorsqu'ils eurent oublié ce qu'on leur avait rappelé, Nous sauvâmes ceux qui avaient dénoncé le mal et infligeâmes un châtiment terrible aux injustes pour leurs actes pervers.

7.166. Et quand ils refusèrent d'abandonner ce qui leur avait été interdit, Nous leur dîmes : «Soyez transformés en singes répugnants !»

7.167. Souviens-toi lorsque ton Seigneur annonça qu'Il enverrait contre eux des adversaires qui leur feraient subir de terribles châtiments jusqu'au Jour dernier. En vérité, si ton Seigneur est prompt à châtier, Il est aussi Miséricordieux et Clément.

7.168. Nous les avons disséminés à travers le monde en plusieurs communautés parmi lesquelles il y avait des gens vertueux et d'autres qui l'étaient moins. Et Nous les avons éprouvés tantôt en les gratifiant de faveurs, tantôt en les soumettant à des malheurs, afin de les faire revenir de leurs erreurs.

7.169. Puis vinrent après eux leurs successeurs qui héritèrent de l'Écriture et qui se mirent à profiter de tout bien qui leur tombait sous la main en disant chaque fois : «Cela nous sera pardonné !» Mais chaque fois que l'occasion se présentait, ils récidivaient, comme si l'Écriture ne leur faisait pas obligation de ne dire sur Dieu que la vérité ! Ils en ont pourtant étudié le contenu et y ont appris que l'ultime demeure est bien meilleure que celle d'ici-bas, pour ceux qui craignent le Seigneur. Ne le comprenez-vous donc pas?

7.170. Pour ceux qui se conforment au Livre et accomplissent la salât, Nous ne laisserons pas perdre la récompense due à ceux qui font le bien.

7.171. Souvenez-vous lorsque Nous élevâmes la montagne comme une ombrelle au-dessus de leurs têtes, au point qu'ils crurent qu'elle allait s'écrouler sur eux. «Recevez avec résolution ces enseignements que Nous vous donnons, leur dîmes-Nous. Méditez-en le contenu. Peut-être deviendrez-vous ainsi des gens pieux !»

7.172. Et lorsque ton Seigneur tira des lombes des fils d'Adam leurs descendants et les fit témoigner contre eux-mêmes, en leur demandant : «Ne suis-Je pas votre Seigneur?» Et ils répondirent : «Oui, nous en témoignons !» Et ce, afin que vous ne puissiez plus dire le Jour de la Résurrection : «Nous avons été pris au dépourvu» ,

7.173. ou que vous ne disiez : «Ce sont nos ancêtres qui, les premiers, donnaient des associés à Dieu, et nous, en tant que leurs descendants, nous n'avons fait qu'hériter leur culte. Vas-Tu nous châtier pour ce que faisaient ces négateurs?»

7.174. C'est ainsi que Nous exposons en détail Nos signes. Peut-être reviendront-ils de leurs erreurs?

7.175. Raconte-leur l'histoire de celui à qui Nous avions communiqué Nos signes, mais qui s'en est volontairement écarté et qui, marchant dans le sillage du démon, alla grossir le rang des égarés.

7.176. Et si Nous avions voulu, Nous l'aurions sauvé, grâce à Nos signes , mais il avait opté pour la vie matérielle de ce monde et obéi à ses instincts, donnant ainsi l'exemple du chien qui ne cesse de haleter, qu'on le traque ou qu'on le laisse en paix. Telle est l'image de ceux qui traitent Nos signes de mensonges ! Raconte-leur ces récits ! Peut-être les feront-ils réfléchir?

7.177. Quelle détestable image que celle qu'offrent ceux qui nient Nos signes et qui, en réalité, ne font du tort qu'à eux-mêmes !

7.178. Seul est dans la bonne voie celui que Dieu guide. Quant à ceux qu'Il égare, ce sont ceux-là les perdants.

7.179. Nous avons destiné à l'Enfer un grand nombre de djinns et d'hommes qui ont des cœurs pour ne pas comprendre, des yeux pour ne pas voir et des oreilles pour ne pas entendre. Comparés à des bestiaux, ils sont plus égarés encore. Tels sont ceux qui vivent dans l'insouciance !

7.180. C'est à Dieu qu'appartiennent les plus beaux Noms. Servez-vous de ces Noms quand vous L'invoquez ! Éloignez-vous de ceux qui les profanent et qui seront rétribués selon leurs actes.

7.181. Il y a cependant, parmi ceux que Nous avons créés, une communauté dont les membres s'attachent à la vérité et jugent avec équité.

7.182. Quant à ceux qui traitent Nos signes de mensonges, Nous les conduirons insensiblement vers leur perte sans qu'ils s'en rendent compte.

7.183. Et Je leur accorderai un délai, car Mes ripostes sont infaillibles.

7.184. Ne comprennent-ils pas enfin que leur compagnon n'est point un possédé, mais qu'il est seulement un avertisseur explicite?

7.185. N'ont-ils jamais dirigé leur regard vers le Royaume des Cieux et de la Terre et vers toutes les choses merveilleuses que Dieu a créées? Ne pensent-ils pas que leur terme est peut-être proche? Quel autre discours, après cela, faut-il leur tenir pour les amener à croire?

7.186. Mais il n'y a point de guide pour ceux que Dieu égare. Il les abandonne dans leur rébellion et les laisse errer en aveugles.

7.187. Ils t'interrogent sur l'Heure : «Quand viendra-t-elle?» Réponds-leur : «Seul mon Seigneur en a connaissance. Lui Seul est à même de la faire surgir au terme fixé. Et du coup, les Cieux et la Terre en seront bouleversés ! D'autant qu'elle ne vous prendra qu'à l'improviste.» On t'interroge à son sujet comme si tu en possédais le secret ! Réponds-leur : «Dieu Seul en a connaissance.» Mais la plupart des hommes ne s'en doutent guère.

7.188. Dis : «Je ne détiens aucun pouvoir de me faire du bien ou du mal, sinon ce que Dieu veut. Si j'avais accès à l'insondable, j'aurais des biens en abondance et aucun mal ne saurait m'atteindre. Je ne suis qu'un avertisseur et un annonciateur pour les gens qui croient.»

7.189. C'est Lui qui vous a créés d'un seul être dont Il a tiré son épouse afin qu'il pût trouver sa sérénité auprès d'elle. Après que l'homme eut cohabité avec sa femme, celle-ci conçut et sentit un léger fardeau qui ne lui causait aucune gêne. Puis, lorsqu'elle s'en trouva plus lourde, les deux époux adressèrent à leur Seigneur cette prière : «Si Tu nous donnes un enfant sain, nous T'en serons reconnaissants !»

7.190. Puis, quand Il leur eut donné un fils bien fait, ils prêtèrent à Dieu des associés en ce qu'Il leur avait donné. Mais Dieu est infiniment au-dessus de ce qu'on peut Lui associer !

7.191. Peut-on concevoir des associés qui n'ont aucun pouvoir de créer et qui sont eux-mêmes créés ,

7.192. qui ne peuvent en rien secourir leurs adeptes ni se secourir eux-mêmes?

7.193. Si vous les appelez à la bonne voie, ils ne vous suivront pas. D'ailleurs, le résultat pour vous est le même, que vous les appeliez ou que vous gardiez le silence.

7.194. Tous ceux que vous invoquez en dehors de Dieu ne sont que de simples créatures comme vous. Priez-les et voyez s'ils vous exaucent, si vous croyez réellement en eux !

7.195. Ces associés ont-ils des pieds pour marcher, des mains pour appréhender, des yeux pour observer, des oreilles pour entendre? Dis-leur : «Faites appel à vos associés et usez contre moi de vos perfidies, sans m'accorder aucun répit !

7.196. En vérité, mon Protecteur, c'est Dieu, qui a révélé le Coran et qui est le Soutien de tous les justes,

7.197. alors que ceux que vous invoquez en dehors de Lui ne peuvent ni vous secourir ni se secourir eux-mêmes.»

7.198. Si tu les invites à suivre la bonne voie, ils ne t'entendent pas. Ils semblent te fixer du regard sans rien voir.

7.199. Sois conciliant ! Ordonne le bien et écarte-toi des ignorants !

7.200. Et si le démon t'incite au mal, cherche refuge auprès de Dieu, car Il est Audient et Omniscient !

7.201. Lorsque ceux qui craignent Dieu se sentent effleurés par le souffle de Satan, ils se souviennent de leur Seigneur et aussitôt redeviennent clairvoyants,

7.202. pendant que les partisans des démons, enfoncés sans cesse par ces derniers dans l'aberration, ne peuvent plus se retenir.

7.203. Lorsque tu ne leur apportes pas de miracle, ils disent : «Que ne l'inventes-tu pas?» Réponds-leur : «Je ne fais que suivre ce qui m'est révélé par mon Seigneur. Ce Coran n'apporte-t-il pas des preuves lumineuses, une bonne direction et une grâce pour ceux qui croient?»

7.204. Lorsque le Coran est récité, observez le silence et écoutez-le attentivement, afin de mériter la miséricorde du Seigneur.

7.205. Invoque ton Seigneur au fond de toi-même avec humilité et crainte ! Invoque-Le à voix basse, matin et soir, sans jamais te laisser distraire !

7.206. Ceux qui sont auprès de ton Seigneur ne dédaignent jamais de L'adorer, de célébrer Ses louanges et de se prosterner devant Lui.

7.1 . Alif . Lam Mim . Sad .

7.2 . ( It is ) a Scripture that is revealed unto thee ( Muhammad ) so let there be no heaviness in thy heart therefrom that thou mayest warn thereby , and ( it is ) a Reminder unto believers .

7.3 . ( Saying ) : Follow that which is sent down unto you from your Lord , and follow no protecting friends beside Him . Little do ye recollect!

7.4 . How many a township have We destroyed! As a raid by night , or while they slept at noon , Our terror came unto them .

7.5 . No plea had they , when Our terror came unto them , save that they said : Lo! We were wrongdoers .

7.6 . Then verily We shall question those unto whom ( Our message ) hath been sent , and verily We shall question the messengers .

7.7 . Then verily We shall narrate unto them ( the event ) with knowledge , for verily We were not absent , ( when it came to pass ) .

7.8 . The weighing on that day is the true ( weighing ) . As for those whose scale is heavy , they are the successful .

7.9 . And as for those whose scale is light : those are they who lose their souls because they disbelieved Our revelations .

7.10 . And We have given you ( mankind ) power in the earth , and appointed for you therein a livelihood . Little give ye thanks!

7.11 . And We created you , then fashioned you , then told the angels : Fall ye prostrate before Adam! And they fell prostrate , all save Iblis , who was not of those who make prostration .

7.12 . He said : What hindered thee that thou didst not fall prostrate when I bade thee? ( Iblis ) said : I am better than him . Thou createdst me of fire while him Thou didst create of mud .

7.13 . He said : Then go down hence! It is not for thee to show pride here , so go forth! Lo! thou art of those degraded .

7.14 . He said : Reprieve me till the day when they are raised ( from the dead ) .

7.15 . He said : Lo! thou art of those reprieved .

7.16 . He said : Now , because Thou hast sent me astray , verily I shall lurk in ambush for them on Thy Right Path .

7.17 . Then I shall come upon them from before them and from behind them and from their right bands and from their left hands , and Thou wilt not find most of them beholden ( unto Thee ) .

7.18 . He said : Go forth from hence , degraded , banished . As for such of them as follow thee , surely I will fill hell with all of you .

7.19 . And ( unto man ) : O Adam! Dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden and eat from whence ye will , but come not nigh this tree lest ye become wrong doers .

7.20 . Then Satan whispered to them that he might manifest unto them that which was hidden from them of their shame , and he said : Your Lord forbade you from this tree only lest ye should become angels or become of the immortals .

7.21 . And he swore unto them ( saying ) : Lo! I am a sincere adviser unto you .

7.22 . Thus did he lead them on with guile . And when they tasted of the tree their shame was manifest to them and they began to hide ( by heaping ) on themselves some of the leaves of the Garden . And their Lord called them , ( saying ) : Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you : Lo! Satan is an open enemy to you?

7.23 . They said : Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves . If Thou forgive us not and have not mercy on us , surely we are of the lost!

7.24 . He said : Go down ( from hence ) , one of you a foe unto the other . There will be for you on earth a habitation and provision for a while .

7.25 . He said : There shall ye live , and there shall ye die , and thence shall ye be brought forth .

7.26 . O Children of Adam! We have revealed unto you raiment to conceal your shame , and splendid vesture , but the raiment of restraint from evil , that is best . This is of the revelations of Allah , that they may remember .

7.27 . O Children of Adam! Let not Satan seduce you as he caused your ( first ) parents to go forth from the Garden and tore off from them their robe ( of innocence ) that be might manifest their shame to them . Lo! he seeth you , he and his tribe , from whence ye see him not . Lo! We have made the devils protecting friends for those who believe not .

7.28 . And when they do some lewdness they say : We found our fathers doing it and Allah hath enjoined it on us . Say : Allah , verily , enjoineth not lewdness . Tell ye concerning Allah that which ye know not?

7.29 . Say : My Lord enjoineth justice . And set your faces , upright ( toward Him ) at every place of worship and call upon Him , making religion pure for Him ( only ) . As He brought you into being , so return ye ( unto Him ) .

7.30 . A party hath He led aright , while error hath just hold over ( another ) party , for lo! they choose the devils for protecting friends instead of Allah and deem that they are rightly guided .

7.31 . O Children of Adam! Look to your adornment at every place of worship , and eat and drink , but be not prodigal . Lo! He loveth not the prodigals .

7.32 . Say : Who hath forbidden the adornment of Allah which He hath brought forth for His bondmen , and the good things of His providing? Say : Such , on the Day of Resurrection , will be only for those who believed during the life of the world . Thus do We detail Our revelations for people who have knowledge .

7.33 . Say : My Lord forbiddeth only indecencies , such of them as are apparent and such as are within , and sin and wrongful oppression , and that ye associate with Allah that for which no warrant hath been revealed , and that ye tell concerning Allah that which ye know not .

7.34 . And every nation hath its term , and when its term cometh , they cannot put it off an hour nor yet advance ( it ) .

7.35 . O Children of Adam! If messengers of your own come unto you who narrate unto you My revelations , then whosoever refraineth from evil and amendeth there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve .

7.36 . But they who deny Our revelations and scorn them such are rightful owners of the Fire ; they will abide therein .

7.37 . Who doeth greater wrong than he who inventeth a lie concerning Allah or denieth Our tokens . ( For such ) their appointed portion of the Book ( of destiny ) reacheth them till , when Our messengers come to gather them , they say : Where ( now ) is that to which ye cried beside Allah? They say : They have departed from us . And they testify against themselves that they were disbelievers .

7.38 . He saith : Enter into the Fire among nations of the jinn and humankind who passed away before you . Every time a nation entereth , it curseth its sister ( nation ) till , when they have all been made to follow one another thither , the last of them saith unto the first of them : Our Lord! These led us astray , so give them double torment of the Fire . He saith : For each one there is double ( torment ) , but ye know not .

7.39 . And the first of them saith unto the last of them : Ye were no whit better than us , so taste the doom for what ye used to earn .

7.40 . Lo! they who deny Our revelations and scorn them , for them the gates of Heaven will not be opened nor will they enter the Garden until the camel goeth through the needle ' s eye . Thus do We requite the guilty .

7.41 . Theirs will be a bed of Hell , and over them coverings ( of Hell ) . Thus do We requite wrong doers .

7.42 . But ( as for ) those who believe and do good works We tax not any soul beyond its scope . Such are rightful owners of the Garden . They abide therein .

7.43 . And We remove whatever rancor may be in their hearts . Rivers flow beneath them . And they say : The praise to Allah , Who hath guided us to this . We could not truly have been led aright if Allah had not guided us . Verily the messengers of our Lord did bring the Truth . And it is cried unto them : This is the Garden . Ye inherit it for what ye used to do .

7.44 . And the dwellers of the Garden cry unto the dwellers of the Fire : We have found that which our Lord promised us ( to be ) the Truth . Have ye ( too ) found that which your Lord promised the Truth? They say : Yea , verily . And a crier in between them crieth : The curse of Allah is on evil doers .

7.45 . Who debar ( men ) from the path of Allah and would have it crooked , and who are disbelievers in the Last Day .

7.46 . Between them is a veil . And on the Heights are men who know them all by their marks . And they call unto the dwellers of the Garden : Peace be unto you! They enter it not although they hope ( to enter ) .

7.47 . And when their eyes are turned toward the dwellers of the Fire , they say : Our Lord! Place us not with the wrongdoing folk .

7.48 . And the dwellers on the Heights call unto men whom they know by their marks , ( saying ) : What did your multitude and that in which ye took your pride avail you?

7.49 . Are these they of whom ye swore that Allah would not show them mercy? ( Unto them it hath been said ) : Enter the Garden . No fear shall come upon you nor is it ye who will grieve .

7.50 . And the dwellers of the Fire cry out unto the dwellers of the Garden ; Pour on us some water or some of that where with Allah hath provided you . They say : Lo! Allah hath forbidden both to disbelievers ( in His guidance ) ,

7.51 . Who took their religion for a sport and pastime , and whom the life of the world beguiled . So this day We have forgotten them even as they forgot the meeting of this Day and as they used to deny Our tokens .

7.52 . Verily We have brought them a Scripture which We expound with knowledge , a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe .

7.53 . Await they aught save the fulfillment thereof? On the day when the fulfillment thereof cometh , those who were before forgetful thereof will say : The messengers of our Lord did bring the Truth ! Have we any intercessors , that they may intercede for us? Or can we be returned ( to life on earth ) , that we may act otherwise than we used to act? They have lost their souls , and that which they devised bath failed them .

7.54 . Lo! your Lord is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days , then mounted He the Throne . He covereth the night with the day , which is in haste to follow it , and hath made the sun and the moon and the stars subservient by His command . His verily is all creation and commandment Blessed be Allah , the Lord of the Worlds!

7.55 . O mankind! ) Call upon your Lord humbly and in secret . Lo! He loveth not aggressors .

7.56 . Work not confusion in the earth after the fair ordering ( thereof ) , and call on Him in fear and hope . Lo! the mercy of Allah is nigh unto the good .

7.57 . And He it is Who sendeth the winds as tidings heralding His mercy , till , when they bear a cloud heavy ( with rain ) , We lead it to a dead land , and then cause water to descend thereon , and thereby bring forth fruits of every kind . Thus bring We forth the dead . Haply ye may remember .

7.58 . As for the good land , its vegetation cometh forth by permission of its Lord ; while as for that which is bad , only evil cometh forth ( from it ) . Thus do We recount the tokens for people who give thanks .

7.59 . We sent Noah ( of old ) unto his people , and he said : O my people! Serve Allah . Ye have no other God save Him . Lo! I fear for you the retribution of an Awful Day .

7.60 . The chieftains of his people said : Lo! we see thee surely in plain error .

7.61 . He said : O my people! There Is no error me , but I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds .

7.62 . I convey unto you the messages of my Lord and give good counsel unto you , and know from Allah that which ye know not .

7.63 . Marvel ye that there should come unto you a Reminder from your Lord by means of a man among you , that he may warn you , and that ye may keep from evil , and that haply ye may find mercy .

7.64 . But they denied him , so We saved him and those with him in the ship , and We drowned those who denied Our token Lo! they were blind folk .

7.65 . And unto ( the tribe of ) Aad ( We sent ) their brother , Hud . He said : O my people! Serve Allah . Ye have no other God save Him . Will ye not ward off ( evil ) ?

7.66 . The chieftains of his people , who were disbelieving , said : Lo! we surely see thee in foolishness , and lo! we deem thee of the liars .

7.67 . He said : O my people ; There is no foolishness in me , but I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds .

7.68 . I convey unto you the messages of my Lord and am for you a true adviser .

7.69 . Marvel ye that there should come unto you a Reminder from your Lord by means of a man among you , that he may warn you? Remember how He made you viceroys after Noah ' s folk , and gave you growth of stature . Remember ( all ) the bounties of your Lord , that haply ye may be successful .

7.70 . They said : Hast come unto us that we should serve Allah alone , and forsake what our fathers worshipped? Then bring upon us that wherewith thou threatenest us if thou art of the truth .

7.71 . He said : Terror and wrath from your Lord have already fallen on you . Would ye wrangle with me over names which ye have named , ye and your fathers , for which no warrant from Allah hath been revealed? Then await ( the consequence ) , Lo! I ( also ) am of those awaiting ( it ) .

7.72 . And We saved him and those with him by a mercy from Us , and We cut the root of those who denied Our revelations and were not believers .

7.73 . And to ( the tribe of ) Thamud ( We sent ) their brother Salih . He said : O my people! Serve Allah . Ye have no other God save Him . A wonder from your Lord hath come unto you . Lo! this is the camel of Allah , a token unto you ; so let her feed in Allah ' s earth , and touch her not with hurt lest painful torment seize you .

7.74 . And remember how He made you viceroys after Aad and gave you station in the earth . Ye choose castles in the plains and hew the mountains into dwellings . So remember ( all ) the bounties of Allah and do not evil , making mischief in the earth .

7.75 . The chieftains of his people , who were scornful , said unto those whom they despised , unto such of them as believed : Know ye that Salih is one sent from his Lord? They said : Lo! In that wherewith he hath been sent we are believers .

7.76 . Those who were scornful said : Lo! in that which ye believe we are disbelievers .

7.77 . So they hamstrung the she camel , and they flouted the commandment of their Lord , and they said : O Salih! Bring upon us that thou threatenest if thou art indeed of those sent ( from Allah ) .

7.78 . So the earthquake seized them , and morning found them prostrate in their dwelling place .

7.79 . And Salih turned on them and said : O my people! I delivered my Lord ' s message unto you and gave you good advice , but ye love not good advisers .

7.80 . And Lo! ( Remember ) when he said unto his folk : Will ye commit abomination such as no creature ever did before you?

7.81 . Lo! ye come with lust unto men instead of women . Nay , but ye , are wanton folk .

7.82 . And the answer of his people was only that they said ( one to another ) : Turn them out of your township . They are folk , forsooth , who keep pure .

7.83 . And We rescued him and his household , save his wife , who was of those who stayed behind .

7.84 . And We rained a rain upon them . See now the nature of the consequence for evil doers!

7.85 . And unto Midian ( We sent ) their brother , Shueyb . He said : O my people! Serve Allah . Ye have no other God save Him . Lo! a clear proof hath come unto you from your Lord ; so give full measure and full weight and wrong not mankind in their goods , and work not confusion in the earth after the fair ordering thereof . That will be better for you , if ye are believers .

7.86 . Lurk not on every road to threaten ( wayfarers ) , and to turn away from Allah ' s path him who believeth in Him , and to seek to make it crooked . And remember , when ye were but few , how He did multiply you . And see the nature of the consequence for the corrupters!

7.87 . And if there is a party of you which believeth in that wherewith I have been sent , and there is a party which believeth not , then have patience until Allah judge between us . He is the best of all who deal in judgment .

7.88 . The chieftains of his people , who were scornful , said : Surely we will drive thee out , O Shueyb , and those who believe with thee , from our township , unless ye return to our religion . He said : Even though we hate it?

7.89 . We should have invented a lie against Allah if we returned to your religion after Allah hath rescued us from it . It is not for us to return to it unless Allah should ( so ) will . Our Lord comprehendeth all things in knowledge . In Allah do we put our trust . Our Lord! Decide with truth between us and our folk , for Thou art the best of those who make decision .

7.90 . But the chieftains of his people , who were disbelieving , said : If ye follow Shueyb , then truly we shall be the losers .

7.91 . So the earthquake seized them , and morning found them prostrate in their dwelling place .

7.92 . Those who denied Shueyb became as though they had not dwelt there . Those who denied Shueyb , they were the losers .

7.93 . So he turned from them and said : O my people! I delivered my Lord ' s messages unto you and gave you good advice ; then how can I sorrow for a people that rejected ( truth ) ?

7.94 . And We sent no prophet unto any township but We did afflict its folk with tribulation and adversity that haply they might grow humble .

7.95 . Then changed We the evil plight for good till they grew affluent and said : Tribulation and distress did touch our fathers . Then We seized them unawares , when they perceived not .

7.96 . And if the people of the township had believed and kept from evil , surely We should have opened for them , blessings from the sky and from the earth . But ( unto every messenger ) they gave the lie , and so We seized them on account of what they used to earn .

7.97 . Are the people of the townships then secure from the coming of Our wrath , upon them as a night raid while they sleep?

7.98 . Or are the people of the townships then secure from the coming of Our wrath upon them in the daytime while they play?

7.99 . Are they then secure from Allah ' s scheme? None deemeth himself secure from Allah ' s scheme save folk that perish .

7.100 . Is it not an indication to those who inherit the land after its people ( who thus reaped the consequence of evil doing ) that , if We will , We can smite them for their sins and print upon their hearts so that they hear not?

7.101 . Such were the townships . We relate some tidings of them unto thee ( Muhammad ) . Their messengers verily came unto them with clear proofs ( of Allah ' s Sovereignty ) , but they could not believe because they had before denied . Thus doth Allah print upon the hearts of disbelievers ( that they hear not ) .

7.102 . We found no ( loyalty to any ) covenant in most of them . Nay , most of them We found wrong doers .

7.103 . Then , after them , We sent Moses with our tokens unto Pharaoh and his chiefs , but they repelled them . Now , see the nature of the consequence for the corrupters!

7.104 . Moses said : O Pharaoh! Lo! I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds ,

7.105 . Approved upon condition that I speak concerning Allah nothing but the truth I come unto you ( lords of Egypt ) with a clear proof from your Lord . So let the Children of Israel go with me .

7.106 . ( Pharaoh ) said : If thou comest with a token , then produce it , if thou art of those who speak the truth .

7.107 . Then he flung down his staff and lo! it was a serpent manifest ;

7.108 . And he drew forth his hand ( from his bosom ) : and lo! it was white for the beholders .

7.109 . The chiefs of Pharaoh ' s people said : Lo! this is some knowing wizard ,

7.110 . Who would expel you from your land . Now what do ye advise?

7.111 . They said ( unto Pharaoh ) : Put him off ( a while ) him and his brother and send into the cities summoners ,

7.112 . To bring each knowing wizard unto thee .

7.113 . And the wizards came to Pharaoh , saying : Surely there will be a reward for us if we are victors .

7.114 . He answered : Yea , and surely ye shall be of those brought near ( to me ) .

7.115 . They said : O Moses! Either throw ( first ) or let us be the first throwers?

7.116 . He said : Throw! And when they threw they cast a spell upon the people ' s eyes , and overawed them , and produced a mighty spell .

7.117 . And We inspired Moses ( saying ) : Throw thy staff! And lo! it swallowed up their lying show .

7.118 . Thus was the Truth vindicated and that which they were doing was made vain .

7.119 . Thus were they there defeated and brought low .

7.120 . And the wizards fell down prostrate ,

7.121 . Crying : We believe in the Lord of the Worlds ,

7.122 . The Lord of Moses and Aaron .

7.123 . Pharaoh said : Ye believe in Him before I give you leave! Lo! this is the plot that ye have plotted in the city that ye may drive its people hence . But ye shall come to know!

7.124 . Surely I shall have your hands and feet cut off upon alternate sides . Then I shall crucify you every one .

7.125 . They said : Lo! We are about to return unto our Lord!

7.126 . Thou takest vengeance on us only forasmuch as we believed the tokens of our Lord when they came unto us . Our Lord! Vouchsafe unto us steadfastness and make us die as men who have surrendered ( unto Thee ) .

7.127 . The chiefs of Pharaoh ' s people said : ( O King ) , wilt thou suffer Moses and his people to make mischief in the land , and flout thee and thy gods? He said : We will slay their sons and spare their women , for lo! we are in power over them .

7.128 . And Moses said unto his people : Seek help in Allah and endure . Lo! the earth is Allah ' s . He giveth it for an inheritance to whom He will . And lo! the sequel is for those who keep their duty ( unto Him ) .

7.129 . They said : We suffered hurt before thou camest unto us , since thou hast come unto us . He said : it may be that your Lord is going to destroy your adversary and make you viceroys in the earth , that He may see how ye behave .

7.130 . And We straitened Pharaoh ' s folk with famine and the dearth of fruits , that peradventure they might heed .

7.131 . But whenever good befell them , they said : This is ours ; and whenever evil smote them they ascribed it to the evil auspices of Moses and those with him . Surely their evil auspice was only with Allah . But most of them knew not .

7.132 . And they said : Whatever portent thou bringest when with to bewitch us , we shall not put faith in thee .

7.133 . So We sent them the flood and the locusts and the vermin and the frogs and the blood a succession of clear signs . But they were arrogant and became guilty .

7.134 . And when the terror fell on them they cried : O Moses! Pray for us unto thy Lord , because He hath a covenant with thee . If thou removest the terror from us we verily will trust thee and will let the Children of Israel go with thee .

7.135 . But when We did remove from them the terror for a term which they must reach , behold! they broke their covenant

7.136 . Therefore We took retribution from them ; therefore We drowned them in the sea : because they denied Our revelations and were heedless of them .

7.137 . And We caused the folk who were devised to inherit the eastern parts of the land and the western parts thereof which We had blessed . And the fair word of the Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel because of their endurance ; and We annihilated ( all ) that Pharaoh and his folk had done and that they had contrived .

7.138 . And We brought the Children of Israel across the sea , and they came unto a people who were given up to idols which they had . They said : O Moses! Make for us a god even as they have gods . He said : Lo! ye are a folk who know not .

7.139 . Lo! as for these , their way will be destroyed and all that they are doing is in vain .

7.140 . He said : Shall I seek for you a god other than Allah when He hath favored you above ( all ) creatures?

7.141 . And ( remember ) when We did deliver you from Pharaoh ' s folk who were afflicting you with dreadful torment , slaughtering your sons and sparing your women . That was a tremendous trial from your Lord .

7.142 . And when We did appoint for Moses thirty nights ( of solitude ) , and added to them ten , and he completed the whole time appointed by his Lord of forty nights ; and Moses said unto his brother : Take my place among the people . Do right , and follow not the way of mischief makers .

7.143 . And when Moses came to Our appointed tryst and his Lord had spoken unto him , he said : My Lord! Show me ( Thy self ) , that I may gaze upon Thee . He said : Thou wilt not see Me , but gaze upon the mountain! If it stand still in its place , then thou wilt see Me . And when his Lord revealed ( His ) glory to the mountain He sent it crashing down . And Moses fell down senseless . And when he woke he said : Glory unto Thee! I turn unto Thee repentant , and I am the first of ( true ) believers .

7.144 . He said : O Moses ! I have preferred thee above mankind by My messages and by My speaking ( unto thee ) . So hold that which I have given thee , and be among the thankful .

7.145 . And We wrote for him , upon the tablets , the lesson to be drawn from all things and the explanation of all things , then ( bade him ) : Hold it fast ; and command thy people ( saying ) : Take the better ( course made clear ) therein . I shall show thee the abode of evil livers .

7.146 . I shall turn away from My revelations those who magnify themselves wrongfully in the earth , and if they see each token believe it not , and if they see the way of righteousness choose it not for ( their ) way , and if they see the way of error choose it for ( their ) way . That is because they deny Our revelations and are used to disregard them .

7.147 . Those who deny Our revelations and the meeting of the Hereafter , their works are fruitless . Are they requited aught save what they used to do?

7.148 . And the folk of Moses , after ( he had left them ) , chose a calf ( for worship ) , ( made ) out of their ornaments , of saffron hue , which gave a lowing sound . Saw they not that it spake not unto them nor guided them to any way? They chose it , and became wrong doers .

7.149 . And when they feared the consequences thereof and saw that they had gone astray , they said : Unless our Lord have mercy on us and forgive us , we verily are of the lost .

7.150 . And when Moses returned unto his people , angry and grieved , he said : Evil is that ( course ) which ye took after I had left you . Would ye hasten on the judgment of your Lord? And he cast down the tablets , and he seized his brother by the head , dragging him toward him . He said : Son of my mother! Lo! the folk did judge me weak and almost killed me . Oh , make not mine enemies to triumph over me and place me not among the evil doers!

7.151 . He said : My Lord! Have mercy on me and on my brother ; bring us into Thy mercy , Thou the Most Merciful of all who show mercy .

7.152 . Lo! those who chose the calf ( for worship ) , terror from their Lord and humiliation will come upon them in the life of the world . Thus do We requite those who invent a lie .

7.153 . But those who do ill deeds and afterward repent and believe lo! for them , afterward , Allah is Forgiving , Merciful .

7.154 . Then , when the anger of Moses abated , he took up the tablets , and in their inscription there was guidance and mercy for all those who fear their Lord .

7.155 . And Moses chose of his people seventy men for Our appointed tryst and , when the trembling came on them , he said : My Lord! If thou hadst willed Thou hadst destroyed them long before , and me with them . Wilt thou destroy us for that which the ignorant among us did? It is but Thy trial ( of us ) . Thou sendest whom Thou wilt astray and guidest whom Thou wilt . Thou art our Protecting Friend , therefore forgive us and have mercy on us , Thou , the Best of all who show forgiveness .

7.156 . And ordain for us in , this world that which is good , and in the Hereafter ( that which is good ) , Lo! We have turned unto Thee . He said : I smite with My punishment whom I will , and My mercy embraceth all things , therefore I shall ordain It for those who ward off ( evil ) and pay the poor due , and those who believe Our revelations ;

7.157 . Those who follow the messenger , the Prophet who can neither read nor write , whom they will find described in the Torah and the Gospel ( which are ) with them . He will enjoin on them that which is right and forbid them that which is wrong . He will make lawful for them all good things and prohibit for them only the foul ; and he will relieve them of their burden and the fetters that they used to wear . Then those who believe in him , and honor him and help him , and follow the light which is sent down with him : they are the successful .

7.158 . Say ( O Muhammad ) : O mankind! Lo! I am the messenger of Allah to you all ( the messenger of ) Him unto whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth . There is no God save Him . He quickeneth and He giveth death . So believe in Allah and His messenger , the Prophet who can neither read nor write , who believeth in Allah and in His words and follow him that haply ye may be led aright .

7.159 . And of Moses ' folk there is a community who lead with truth and establish justice therewith .

7.160 . We divided them into twelve tribes , nations ; and We inspired Moses , when his people asked him for water , saying : Smite with thy staff the rock! And there gushed forth therefrom twelve springs , so that each tribe knew their drinking place . And we caused the white cloud to overshadow them and sent down for them the manna and the quails ( saying ) : Eat of the good things wherewith We have provided you . They wronged Us not , but they were wont to wrong themselves .

7.161 . And when it was said unto them : Dwell in this township and eat therefrom whence ye will , and say "Repentance , and enter the gate prostrate ; We shall forgive you your sins ; We shall increase ( reward ) for the right doers .

7.162 . But those of them who did wrong changed the word which had been told them for another saying , and We sent down upon them wrath from heaven for their wrongdoing .

7.163 . Ask them ( O Muhammad ) of the township that was by the sea , how they did break the sabbath , how their big fish came unto them visibly upon their sabbath day and on a day when they did not keep sabbath came they not unto them . Thus did We try them for that they were evil livers .

7.164 . And when a community among them said : Why preach ye to a folk whom Allah is about to destroy and punish with an awful doom , they said : In order to be free from guilt before your Lord , and that haply they may ward off ( evil ) .

7.165 . And when they forgot that whereof they had been reminded , We rescued those who forbade wrong , and visited those who did wrong with dreadful punishment because they were evil livers .

7.166 . So when they took pride in that which they had been forbidden , We said unto them : Be ye apes despised and loathed!

7.167 . And ( remember ) when thy Lord proclaimed that He would raise against them till the Day of Resurrection those who would lay on them a cruel torment . Lo! verily thy Lord is swift in prosecution and lo! verify He is Forgiving , Merciful .

7.168 . And We have sundered them in the earth as ( separate ) nations . Some of them are righteous , and some far from that . And We have tried them with good things and evil things that haply they might return .

7.169 . And a generation hath succeeded them who inherited the Scriptures . They grasp the goods of this low life ( as the price of evil doing ) and say : It will be forgiven us . And if there came to them ( again ) the offer of the like , they would accept it ( and would sin again ) . Hath not the covenant of the Scripture been taken on their behalf that they should not speak aught concerning Allah save the truth? And they have studied that which is therein . And the abode of the Hereafter is better , for those who ward off ( evil ) . Have ye then no sense?

7.170 . And as for those who make ( men ) keep the Scripture , and establish worship lo! We squander not the wages of reformers .

7.171 . And when We shook the Mount above them as it were a covering , and they supposed that it was going to fall upon them ( and We said ) : Hold fast that which We have given you , and remember that which is therein , that ye may ward off ( evil ) .

7.172 . And ( remember ) when thy Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam , from their reins , their seed , and made them testify of themselves , ( saying ) : Am I not your Lord? They said : Yea , verily . We testify . ( That was ) lest ye should say at the Day of Resurrection : Lo! of this we were unaware ;

7.173 . Or lest ye should say : ( It is ) only ( that ) our fathers ascribed partners to Allah of old and we were ( their ) seed after them . Wilt Thou destroy us on account of that which those who follow falsehood did?

7.174 . Thus We detail Our revelations , that haply they may return .

7.175 . Recite unto them the tale of him to whom We gave Our revelations , but he sloughed them off , so Satan overtook him and he became of those who lead astray .

7.176 . And had We willed We could have raised him by their means , but he clung to the earth and followed his own lust . Therefor his likeness is as the likeness of a dog ; if thou attackest him he panteth with his tongue out , and if thou leavest him he panteth with his tongue out . Such is the likeness of the , people who deny Our revelations . Narrate unto them the history ( of the men of old ) , that haply they may take thought .

7.177 . Evil as an example are the folk who denied Our revelations , and were wont to wrong themselves .

7.178 . He who Allah leadeth , he indeed is led aright , while he whom Allah sendeth astray they indeed are losers .

7.179 . Already have We urged unto hell many of the jinn and humankind , having hearts wherewith they understand not , and having eyes wherewith they see not , and having ears wherewith they hear not . These are as the cattle nay , but they are worse! These are the neglectful .

7.180 . Allah ' s are the fairest names . Invoke Him by them . And leave the company of those who blaspheme His names . They will be requited what they do .

7.181 . And of those whom We created there is a nation who guide with the Truth and establish justice therewith .

7.182 . And those who deny Our revelations step by step We lead them on from whence they know not .

7.183 . I give them rein ( for ) lo! My scheme is strong .

7.184 . Have they not bethought them ( that ) there is no madness in their comrade? He is but a plain warner .

7.185 . Have they not considered the dominion of the heavens and the earth , and what things Allah hath created , and that it may be that their own term draweth nigh? In what fact after this will they believe?

7.186 . Those whom Allah sendeth astray , there is no guide for them . He leaveth them to wander blindly on in their contumacy .

7.187 . They ask thee of the ( destined ) Hour , when will it come to port . Say : Knowledge thereof is with my Lord only . He alone will manifest it at its proper time . It is heavy in the heavens and the earth . It cometh not to you save unawares . They question thee as if thou couldst be well informed thereof . Say : Knowledge thereof is with Allah only , but most of mankind know not .

7.188 . Say : For myself I have no power to benefit , nor power to hurt , save that which Allah willeth . Had I knowledge of the Unseen , I should have abundance of wealth , and adversity would not touch me . I am but a warner , and a bearer of good tidings unto folk who believe .

7.189 . He it is who did create you from a single soul , and therefrom did make his mate that he might take rest in her . And when he covered her she bore a light burden , and she passed ( unnoticed ) with it , but when it became heavy they cried unto Allah , their Lord , saying : If thou givest unto us aright we shall be of the thankful .

7.190 . But when He gave unto them aright , they ascribed unto Him partners in respect of that which He had given them . High is He exalted above all that they associate ( with Him ) .

7.191 . Attribute they as partners to Allah those who created naught , but are themselves created ,

7.192 . And cannot give them help , nor can they help themselves?

7.193 . And if ye call them to the Guidance , they follow you not . Whether ye call them or are silent is all one to them .

7.194 . Lo! those on whom ye call beside Allah are slaves like unto you . Call on them now , and let them answer you , if ye are truthful!

7.195 . Have they feet wherewith they walk , or have they hands wherewith they hold , or have they eyes wherewith they see , or have they ears wherewith they hear? Say : Call upon your ( so called ) partners ( of Allah ) , and then contrive against me , spare me not!

7.196 . Lo! my Protecting Friend is Allah who revealeth the Scripture . He befriendeth the righteous .

7.197 . They on whom ye call beside Him have no power to help you , nor can they help themselves .

7.198 . And if ye ( Muslims ) call them to the Guidance they hear not ; and thou ( Muhammad ) seest them looking toward thee , but they see not .

7.199 . Keep to forgiveness ( O Muhammad ) , and enjoin kindness , and turn away from the ignorant .

7.200 . And if a slander from the devil wound thee , then seek refuge in Allah . Lo! He is Hearer , Knower .

7.201 . Lo! those who ward off ( evil ) , when a glamour from the devil troubleth them , they do but remember ( Allah ' s guidance ) and behold them seers!

7.202 . Their brethren plunge them further into error and cease not .

7.203 . And when thou bringest not a verse for them they say : Why hast thou not chosen it? Say : I follow only that which is inspired in me from my Lord . This ( Quran ) is insight from your Lord , and a guidance and a mercy for a people that believe .

7.204 . And when the Quran is recited , give ear to it and pay heed , that ye may obtain mercy .

7.205 . And do thou ( O Muhammad ) remember thy . Lord within thyself humbly and with awe , below thy breath , at morn and evening . And be thou not of the neglectful .

7.206 . Lo! those who are with thy Lord are not too proud to do Him service, but they praise Him and prostrate before Him.

7.1. 'lms.

7.2. Ésta es una Escritura que se te ha revelado -¡no te apures por ella!-, para que adviertas por ella, y como amonestación para los creyentes.

7.3. ¡Seguid lo que vuestro Señor os ha revelado y no sigáis a otros amigos en lugar de seguirle a Él! ¡Qué poco os dejáis amonestar!

7.4. ¡Cuántas ciudades hemos destruido! Les alcanzó Nuestro rigor de noche o durante la siesta.

7.5. " Cuando les alcanzó Nuestro rigor, no gritaron más que: ""¡Fuimos impíos!"". "

7.6. Pediremos, ciertamente, responsabilidades a aquéllos a quienes mandamos enviados, como también a los enviados.

7.7. Les contaremos, ciertamente, con conocimiento. No estábamos ausentes.

7.8. La pesa ese día será la Verdad. Aquéllos cuyas obras pesen mucho serán los que prosperen,

7.9. mientras que aquéllos cuyas obras pesen poco perderán, porque obraron impíamente con Nuestros signos.

7.10. Os hemos dado poderío en la tierra y os hemos puesto en ella medios de subsistencia. ¡Qué poco agradecidos sois!

7.11. " Y os creamos. Luego, os formamos. Luego dijimos a los ángeles: ""¡Prosternaos ante Adán!"" Se prosternaron, excepto Iblis. No fue de los que se prosternaron. "

7.12. " Dijo: ""¿Qué es lo que te ha impedido prosternarte cuando Yo te lo he ordenado?"" Dijo: ""Es que soy mejor que él. A mí me creaste de fuego, mientras que a él le creaste de arcilla"". "

7.13. " Dijo: ""Desciende, pues, de aquí! ¡No vas a echártelas de soberbio en este lugar...! ¡Sal, pues, eres de los despreciables!"" "

7.14. " Dijo: ""¡Déjame esperar hasta el día de la Resurreción!"" "

7.15. " Dijo: ""¡Cuéntate entre aquellos a quienes es dado esperar!"" "

7.16. " Dijo: ""Como me has descarriado, he de acecharles en Tu vía recta. "

7.17. " He de atacarles por delante y por detrás, por la derecha y por la izquierda. Y verás que la mayoría no son agradecidos"". "

7.18. " Dijo: ""¡Sal de aquí, detestable, vil! ¡He de llenar la gehena de tus secuaces ¡De todos vosotros!"" "

7.19. " ""¡Adán! ¡Habita con tu esposa en el Jardín y comed de lo que queráis, pero no os acerquéis a este árbol! Si no, seréis de los impíos"". "

7.20. " Pero el Demonio les insinuó el mal, mostrándoles su escondida desnudez, y dijo: ""Vuestro Señor no os ha prohibido acercaros a este árbol sino por temor de que os convirtáis en ángeles u os hagáis inmortales"". "

7.21. " Y les juró: ""¡De veras, os aconsejo bien!"" "

7.22. " Les hizo, pues, caer dolosamente. Y cuando hubieron gustado ambos del árbol, se les reveló su desnudez y comenzaron a cubrirse con hojas del Jardín. Su Señor les llamó: ""¿No os había prohibido ese árbol y dicho que el Demonio era para vosotros un enemigo declarado?"" "

7.23. " Dijeron: ""¡Señor! Hemos sido injustos con nosostros mismos. Si no nos perdonas y Te apiadas de nosotros, seremos, ciertamente, de los que pierden"". "

7.24. " Dijo: ""¡Descended! Seréis enemigos unos de otros. La tierra será por algún tiempo vuestra morada y lugar de disfrute"" "

7.25. " Dijo: ""En ella viviréis, en ella moriréis y de ella se os sacará"". "

7.26. ¡Hijos de Adán! Hemos hecho bajar para vosotros una vestidura para cubrir vuestra desnudez y para ornato. Pero la vestidura del temor de Alá, ésa es mejor. Ése es uno de los signos de Alá. Quizás, así, se dejen amonestar.

7.27. ¡Hijos de Adán! Que el Demonio no os tiente, como cuando sacó a vuestros padres del Jardín, despojándoles de su vestidura para mostrarles su desnudez. Él y su hueste os ven desde donde vosotros no les veis. A los que no creen les hemos dado los demonios como amigos.

7.28. " Cuando cometen una deshonestidad, dicen: ""Encontramos a nuestros padres haciendo lo mismo y Alá nos lo ha ordenado"". Di: ""Ciertamente, Alá no ordena la deshonestidad. ¿Decís contra Alá lo que no sabéis?"" "

7.29. " Di: ""Mi Señor ordena la equidad. Dirigíos a Él siempre que oréis e invocadle rindiéndole culto sincero. Así como os ha creado, volveréis"". "

7.30. Ha dirigido a unos, pero otros han merecido extraviarse. Éstos han tomado como amigos a los demonios, en lugar de tomar a Alá, y creen ser bien dirigidos.

7.31. ¡Hijos de Adán! ¡Atended a vuestro atavío siempre que oréis! ¡Comed y bebed, pero no cometáis excesos, que Él no ama a los inmoderados!

7.32. " Di: "",Quién ha prohibido los adornos que Alá ha producido para Sus siervos y las cosas buenas de que os ha proveído?"" Di: ""Esto es para los creyentes mientras vivan la vida de acá, pero, en particular, para el día de la Resurrección"". Así es como explicamos con detalle las aleyas a gente que sabe. "

7.33. " Di: ""Mi Señor prohíbe sólo las deshonestidades, tanto las públicas como las ocultas, el pecado, la opresión injusta, que asociéis a Alá algo a lo que Él no ha conferido autoridad y que digáis contra Alá lo que no sabéis"". "

7.34. Cada comunidad tiene un plazo. Y cuando vence su plazo, no pueden retrasarlo ni adelantarlo una hora.

7.35. ¡Hijos de Adán! Si vienen a vosotros enviados salidos de vosotros contándoos Mis signos, quienes temen a Alá y se enmiendan no tienen que temer y no estarán tristes.

7.36. Pero quienes hayan desmentido Nuestros signos y se hayan apartado altivamente de ellos, ésos morarán en el Fuego eternamente.

7.37. " ¿Hay alguien que sea más impío que quien inventa una mentira contra Alá o niega Sus signos? Ésos tendrán la suerte a que han sido destinados. Cuando, al fin, Nuestros enviados vengan a ellos para llamarles, dirán: ""¿Dónde está lo que invocabais en lugar de invocar a Alá?"" Ellos dirán: ""¡Nos han abandonado!"" Entonces, atestiguarán contra sí mismos su incredulidad. "

7.38. " Dirá ""¡Entrad en el Fuego a reuniros con las comunidades de genios y hombres que os han precedido!"" Siempre que una comunidad entra, maldice a su hermana. Cuando, al fin, se encuentren allí todas, la última en llegar dirá de la primera: ""¡Señor! Éstos son quienes nos extraviaron. Dóblales, pues, el castigo del Fuego"". Dirá: ""Todos reciben el doble. Pero vosotros no sabéis"". "

7.39. " La primera de ellas dirá a la última: ""No gozáis de ningún privilegio sobre nosotros. Gustad, pues, el castigo que habéis merecido"". "

7.40. A quienes hayan desmentido Nuestros signos y se hayan apartado altivamente de ellos, no se les abrirán las puertas del cielo ni entrarán en el Jardín hasta que entre un camello en el ojo de una aguja. Así retribuiremos a los pecadores.

7.41. Tendrán la gehena por lecho y, por encima, cobertores. Así retribuiremos a los impíos.

7.42. Quienes creyeron y obraron bien- a nadie pedimos sino según sus posibilidades-. ésos morarán en el Jardín eternamente.

7.43. " Extirparemos el rencor que quede en sus pechos. Fluirán arroyos a sus pies. Dirán: ""¡Alabado sea Alá, Que nos ha dirigido acá! No habríamos sido bien dirigidos si no nos hubiera dirigido Alá. Los enviados de nuestro Señor bien que trajeron la Verdad"". Y se les llamará: ""Éste es el Jardín. Lo habéis heredado en premio a vuestras obras"". "

7.44. " Los moradores del Jardín llamarán a los moradores del Fuego: ""Hemos encontrado que era verdad lo que nuestro Señor nos había prometido. Y vosotros, ¿ habéis encontrado si era verdad lo que vuestro Señor os había prometido?"" ""¡Si!"", dirán. Entonces, un voceador pregonará entre ellos: ""¡Que la maldición de Alá caiga sobre los impíos. "

7.45. " que desvían a otros del camino de Alá, deseando que sea tortuoso, y no creen en la otra vida!"" "

7.46. " Hay entre los dos un velo. En los lugares elevados habrá hombres que reconocerán a todos por sus rasgos distintivos y que llamarán a los moradores del Jardín: ""¡Paz sobre vosotros!"" No entrarán en él, por mucho que lo deseen. "

7.47. " Cuando sus miradas se vuelvan hacia los moradores del Fuego, dirán: ""¡Señor! ¡No nos pongas con el pueblo impío"" "

7.48. " Y los moradores de los lugares elevados llamarán a hombres que reconozcan por sus rasgos distintivos. Dirán: ""Lo que habéis acumulado y vuestra altivez no os han servido de nada. "

7.49. " ¿Son éstos aquéllos de quienes jurabais que Alá no iba a apiadarse de ellos?"" ""¡Entrad en el Jardín! No tenéis que temer y no estaréis tristes"". "

7.50. " Los moradores del Fuego gritarán a los moradores del Jardín: ""¡Derramad sobre nosotros algo de agua o algo de lo que Alá os ha proveído!"" Dirán: ""Alá ha prohibido ambas cosas a los infieles, "

7.51. " que tomaron su religión a distracción y juego, a quienes la vida de acá engañó"". Hoy les olvidaremos, como ellos olvidaron que les llegaría este día y negaron Nuestros signos. "

7.52. Les trajimos una Escritura, que explicamos detalladamente, con pleno conocimiento, como dirección y misericordia para gente que cree.

7.53. " ¿Esperan otra cosa que su cumplimiento? El día que se cumpla, los que antes la olvidaron dirán: ""Los enviados de nuestro Señor bien que trajeron la Verdad ¿Tenemos ahora intercesores que intercedan por nosotros o se nos podría devolver y obraríamos de modo diferente al que obramos?"" Se han perdido a sí mismos y se han esfumado sus invenciones. "

7.54. Vuestro Señor es Alá, Que ha creado los cielos y la tierra en seis días. Luego, se ha instalado en el Trono. Cubre el día con la noche, que le sigue rápidamente. Y el sol, la luna y las estrellas, sujetos por Su orden. ¿No son Suyas la creación y la orden? ¡Bendito sea Alá, Señor del universo!

7.55. ¡Invocad a vuestro Señor humilde y secretamente! Él no ama a quienes violan la ley.

7.56. ¡No corrompáis en la tierra después de reformada! ¡Invocadle con temor y anhelo! La misericordia de Alá está cerca de quienes hacen el bien.

7.57. Es Él quien envía los vientos como nuncios que preceden a Su misericordia. Cuando están cargados de nubes pesadas, las empujamos a un país muerto y hacemos que llueva en él y que salgan, gracias al agua, frutos de todas clases. Así haremos salir a los muertos. Quizás así, os dejéis amonestar.

7.58. La vegetación de un país bueno sale con la ayuda de su Señor, mientras que de un país malo sale pero escasa. Así explicamos los signos a gente que agradece.

7.59. " Enviamos Noé a su pueblo. Dijo: ""¡Pueblo! ¡Servid a Alá! No tenéis a ningún otro dios que a Él. Temo por vosotros el castigo de un día terrible"". "

7.60. " Los dignatarios de su pueblo dijeron: ""Sí, vemos que estás evidentemente extraviado"". "

7.61. " Dijo: ""¡Puebla! No estoy extraviado, antes bien he sido enviado por el Señor del universo. "

7.62. Os comunico los mensajes de mi Señor y os aconsejo bien. Y sé por Alá lo que vosotros no sabéis.

7.63. " ¿Os maravilláis de que os haya llegado una amonestación de vuestro Señor, por medio de un hombre salido de vosotros, para advertiros y para que temáis a Alá y, quizás, así, se os tenga piedad?"" "

7.64. Pero le desmintieron. Así, pues, les salvamos, a él y a quienes estaban con él en la nave, y anegamos a quienes habían desmentido Nuestros signos. Eran, en verdad, un pueblo ciego.

7.65. " Y a los aditas su hermano Hud. Dijo: ""¡Pueblo! ¡Servid a Alá! No tenéis a ningún otro dios que a Él. ¿No vais a temerle?"" "

7.66. " Los dignatarios de su pueblo, que no creían, dijeron: ""Vemos que estás tonto y, sí, creemos que eres de los que mienten"". "

7.67. " Dijo: ""¡Pueblo! No estoy tonto. Antes bien, he sido enviado por el Señor del universo. "

7.68. Os comunico los mensajes de mi Señor y os aconsejo fielmente.

7.69. " ¿Os maravilláis de que os haya llegado una amonestación de vuestro Señor por medio de un hombre salido de vosotros para advertiros? Y recordad cuando os hizo sucesores después del pueblo de Noé y os hizo corpulentos. ¡Recordad, pues, los beneficios de Alá! Quizás, así, prosperéis"". "

7.70. " Dijeron: ""¿Has venido a nosotros para que sirvamos a Alá Solo y renunciemos a aquéllos que nuestros padres servían? Tráenos, pues, aquello con que nos amenazas, si es verdad lo que dices"". "

7.71. " Dijo: ""¡Que la indignación y la ira de vuestro Señor caigan sobre vosotros! ¿Disputaréis conmigo sobre los nombres que habéis puesto, vosotros y vuestros padres? Alá no les ha conferido ninguna autoridad. ¡Y esperad! Yo también soy de los que esperan"". "

7.72. Así, pues, salvamos a él y a los que con él estaban por una misericordia venida de Nosotros. Y extirpamos a quienes habían desmentido Nuestros signos y no eran creyentes.

7.73. " Y a los tamudeos su hermano Salih. Dijo: ""¡Pueblo! ¡Servid a Alá! No tenéis a ningún otro dios que a Él. Os ha venido de vuestro Señor una prueba: es la camella de Alá, que será signo para vosotros, ¡Dejadla que pazca en la tierra de Alá y no le hagáis mal! Si no, os alcanzará un castigo doloroso. "

7.74. " Recordad cuando os hizo sucesores, después de los aditas y os estableció en la tierra. Edificasteis palacios en las llanuras y excavasteis casas en las montañas. Recordad los beneficios de Alá y no obréis mal en la tierra corrompiendo"". "

7.75. " Los dignatarios de su pueblo, altivos, dijeron a los débiles que habían creído: ""¿Sabéis si Salih ha sido enviado por su Señor?"". Dijeron: ""Creemos en el mensaje que se le ha confiado"". "

7.76. " Los altivos dijeron: ""Pues nosotros no creemos en lo que vosotros creéis"". "

7.77. " Y desjarretaron la camella e infringieron la orden de su Señor, diciendo: ""¡Salih! ¡Tráenos aquello con que nos amenazas, si de verdad eres de los enviados!"" "

7.78. Les sorprendió el Temblor y amanecieron muertos en sus casas.

7.79. " Se alejó de ellos, diciendo: ""Pueblo! Os he comunicado el mensaje de mi Señor y os he aconsejado bien, pero no amáis a los buenos consejeros"". "

7.80. " Y a Lot. Cuando dijo a su pueblo: ""¿Cometéis una deshonestidad que ninguna criatura ha cometido antes? "

7.81. " Ciertamente, por concupiscencia, os llegáis a los hombres en lugar de llegaros a las mujeres. ¡Sí, sois un pueblo inmoderado!"" "

7.82. " Lo único que respondió su pueblo fue: ""¡Expulsadles de la ciudad! ¡Son gente que se las da de puros!"" "

7.83. Y les salvamos, a él y a su familia, salvo a su mujer, que fue de los que se rezagaron.

7.84. E hicimos llover sobre ellos una lluvia: ¡Y mira cómo terminaron los pecadores!

7.85. " Y a los madianitas su hermano Suayb. Dijo: ""¡Pueblo! ¡Servid a Alá! No tenéis a ningún otro dios que a Él. Os ha venido, de vuestro Señor, una prueba. ¡Dad la medida y el peso justos, no defraudéis a los hombres en sus bienes! ¡No corrompáis en la tierra después de reformada! Eso es mejor para vosotros, si es que sois creyentes. "

7.86. No acechéis en cada vía a quienes creen en Él, amenazándoles y desviándoles del camino de Alá, deseando que sea tortuoso. Y recordad, cuando erais pocos y Él os multiplicó. ¡Y mirad cómo terminaron los corruptores!

7.87. " Y si algunos de vosotros creen en el mensaje que se me ha confiado y otros no, tened paciencia hasta que Alá decida entre nosotros. Él es el Mejor en decidir"". "

7.88. " Los dignatarios del pueblo, altivos, dijeron: ""Hemos de expulsarte de nuestra ciudad, Suayb, y a los que contigo han creído, a menos que volváis a nuestra religión"". Suayb dijo: ""¿Aun si no nos gusta? "

7.89. " Inventaríamos una mentira contra Alá si volviéramos a vuestra religión después de habernos salvado Alá de ella. No podemos volver a ella, a menos que Alá nuestro Señor lo quiera. Nuestro Señor lo abarca todo en Su ciencia. ¡Confiamos en Alá! ¡Señor, falla según Justicia entre nosotros y nuestro pueblo! Tú eres Quien mejor falla"". "

7.90. " Los dignatarios de su pueblo, que no creían, dijeron: ""Si seguís a Suayb, estáis perdidos..."" "

7.91. Les sorprendió el Temblor y amanecieron muertos en sus casas.

7.92. Fue como si los que habían desmentido a Suayb no hubieran habitado en ellas. Los que habían desmentido a Suayb fueron los que perdieron.

7.93. " Se alejó de ellos, diciendo: ""¡Pueblo! Os he comunicado los mensajes de mi Señor y os he aconsejado bien. ¿Cómo voy a sentirlo ahora por gente infiel?"" "

7.94. No enviamos a ningún profeta a ciudad que no infligiéramos a su población miseria y desgracia -quizás, así se humillaran-,

7.95. " y que no cambiáramos, a continuación, el mal por el bien hasta que olvidaran lo ocurrido y dijeran: ""La desgracia y la dicha alcanzaron también a nuestros padres"". Entonces, nos apoderábamos de ellos por sorpresa sin que se apercibieran. "

7.96. Si los habitantes de las ciudades hubieran creído y temido a Alá, habríamos derramado sobre ellos bendiciones del cielo y de la tierra, pero desmintieron y nos apoderamos de ellos por lo que habían cometido.

7.97. ¿Es que los habitantes de las ciudades están a salvo de que Nuestro rigor les alcance de noche, mientras duermen?

7.98. ¿O están a salvo los habitantes de las ciudades de que Nuestro rigor les alcance de día, mientras juegan?

7.99. ¿Es que están a salvo de la intriga de Alá? Nadie está a salvo de la intriga de Alá, sino los que pierden.

7.100. ¿No hemos indicado a los que han heredado la tierra después de sus anteriores ocupantes que, si Nosotros quisiéramos. les afligiríamos por sus pecados, sellando sus corazones de modo que no pudieran oír?

7.101. Ésas son las ciudades de las que te hemos contado algunas cosas. Vinieron a ellas sus enviados con las pruebas claras, pero no estaban para creer en lo que antes habían desmentido. Así sella Alá los corazones de los infieles.

7.102. No hemos encontrado en la mayoría de ellos fidelidad a una alianza, pero si hemos encontrado que la mayoría son unos perversos.

7.103. Luego, después de ellos, enviamos a Moisés con Nuestros signos a Faraón y a sus dignatarios, pero fueron injustos con ellos. ¡Y mira cómo terminaron los corruptores!

7.104. " Moisés dijo: ""Faraón! He sido enviado por el Señor del universo. "

7.105. " No debo decir nada contra Alá, sino la verdad. Os he traído una prueba clara de vuestro Señor. Deja marchar conmigo a los Hijos de Israel"". "

7.106. " Dijo: ""Si has traído un signo, muéstralo, si es verdad lo que dices"". "

7.107. Tiró su vara y se convirtió en auténtica serpiente.

7.108. Sacó su mano y he aquí que apareció blanca a los ojos de los presentes.

7.109. " Los dignatarios del pueblo de Faraón dijeron: ""Sí, éste es un mago entendido. "

7.110. " Quiere expulsaros de vuestra tierra ¿Qué ordenáis?"" "

7.111. " Dijeron: ""¡Dales largas, a él y a su hermano, y envía a las ciudades a agentes que convoquen, "

7.112. " que te traigan a todo mago entendido!"" "

7.113. " Los magos vinieron a Faraón y dijeron: ""Tiene que haber una recompensa para nosotros si vencemos"". "

7.114. " Dijo: ""Sí, y seréis, ciertamente, de mis allegados"". "

7.115. " Dijeron: ""¡Moisés! ,Tiras tú o tiramos nosotros?"" "

7.116. " Dijo: ""¡Tirad vosotros!"" Y, cuando tiraron fascinaron los ojos de la gente y les aterrorizaron. Vinieron con un encantamiento poderoso. "

7.117. " E inspiramos a Moisés: ""¡Tira tu vara!"" Y he aquí que ésta engulló sus mentiras. "

7.118. Y se cumplió la Verdad y resultó inútil lo que habían hecho.

7.119. Fueron, así, vencidos y se retiraron humillados.

7.120. Los magos cayeron prosternados

7.121. " Dijeron: ""Creemos en el Señor del universo, "

7.122. " el Señor de Moisés y de Aarón"". "

7.123. " Faraón dijo: ""¡Habéis creído en él antes de que yo os autorizara! Ésta es, ciertamente, una intriga que habéis urdido en la ciudad para sacar de ella a su población, pero vais a ver... "

7.124. " He de haceros amputar las manos y los pies opuestos. Luego he de haceros crucificar a todos"". "

7.125. " Dijeron: ""Ciertamente, volveremos a nuestro Señor. "

7.126. " Te vengas de nosotros sólo porque hemos creído en los signos de nuestro Señor cuando han venido a nosotros. ¡Señor! Infunde en nosotros paciencia y haz que cuando muramos lo hagamos sometidos a Ti"". "

7.127. " Los dignatarios del pueblo de Faraón dijeron: ""¿Dejaréis que Moisés y su pueblo corrompan en el país y os abandonen, a ti a y a tus dioses?"" Dijo: ""Mataremos sin piedad a sus hijos varones y dejaremos con vida a sus mujeres. Les podemos"". "

7.128. " Moisés dijo a su pueblo: ""¡Implorad la ayuda de Alá y tened paciencia! La tierra es de Alá y se la da en herencia a quien Él quiere de Sus siervos. El fin es para los que temen a Alá"". "

7.129. " Dijeron: ""Hemos sufrido antes de que tú vinieras a nosotros y luego de haber venido"". Dijo: ""Puede que vuestro Señor destruya a vuestro enemigo y os haga sucederles en la tierra para ver cómo actuáis"". "

7.130. Infligimos al pueblo de Faraón años y escasez de frutos. Quizás así, se dejaran amonestar.

7.131. " Cuando les sonreía la fortuna, decían: ""¡Esto es nuestro!"". Pero, cuando les sucedía un mal, lo achacaban al mal agüero de Moisés y de quienes con él estaban. ¿Es que su suerte no dependía sólo de Alá? Pero la mayoría no sabían. "

7.132. " Dijeron: ""Sea cual sea el signo que nos traigas para hechizarnos con él, no te creeremos"". "

7.133. Enviamos contra ellos la inundación, las langostas, los piojos, las ranas y la sangre, signos inteligibles. Pero fueron altivos, eran gente pecadora.

7.134. " Y, cuando cayó el castigo sobre ellos, dijeron: ""¡Moisés! Ruega a tu Señor por nosotros en virtud de la alianza que ha concertado contigo. Si apartas el castigo de nosotros, creeremos, ciertamente, en ti y dejaremos que los Hijos de Israel partan contigo"". "

7.135. Pero, cuando retiramos el castigo hasta que se cumpliera el plazo que debían observar, he aquí que quebrantaron su promesa.

7.136. Nos vengamos de ellos anegándoles en el mar por haber desmentido Nuestros signos y por no haber hecho caso de ellos.

7.137. Y dimos en herencia al pueblo que había sido humillado las tierras orientales y las occidentales, que Nosotros hemos bendecido. Y se cumplió la bella promesa de tu Señor a los Hijos de Israel, por haber tenido paciencia. Y destruimos lo que Faraón y su pueblo habían hecho y lo que habían construido.

7.138. " E hicimos que los Hijos de Israel atravesaran el mar y llegaron a una gente entregada al culto de sus ídolos. Dijeron: ""¡Moisés! ¡Haznos un dios, como ellos tienen dioses!"" ""¡Sois un pueblo ignorante!"", dijo. "

7.139. " ""Aquello en que estas gentes están va a ser destruido y sus obras serán vanas"". "

7.140. " Dijo: ""¿Voy a buscaros un dios diferente de Alá, siendo así que Él os ha distinguido entre todos los pueblos?"" "

7.141. Y cuando os salvamos de las gentes de Faraón, que os sometían a duro castigo, matando sin piedad a vuestros hijos varones y dejando con vida a vuestras mujeres. Con esto os probó vuestro Señor duramente.

7.142. " Y nos dimos cita con Moisés durante treinta días, que completamos con otros diez. Así, la duración con su Señor fue de cuarenta días. Moisés dijo a su hermano Aarón: ""Haz mis veces en mi pueblo, obra bien y no imites a los corruptores"". "

7.143. " Cuando Moisés acudió a Nuestro encuentro y su Señor le hubo hablado, dijo: ""¡Señor! ¡Muéstrate a mí, que pueda mirarte!"" Dijo: ""¡No Me verás! ¡Mira, en cambio, la montaña! Si continúa firme en su sitio, entonces Me verás"". Pero, cuando su Señor se manifestó a la montaña, la pulverizó y Moisés cayó al suelo fulminando. Cuando volvió en si dijo: ""¡Gloria a Ti! Me arrepiento y soy el primero de los que creen"". "

7.144. " Dijo: ""¡Moisés! Con Mis mensajes y con haberte hablado, te he escogido entre todos los hombres. ¡Coge, pues, lo que te doy y sé de los agradecidos!"" "

7.145. " Y le escribimos en las Tablas una exhortación sobre todo y una explicación detallada de todo. ""Cógelas, pues, con fuerza y ordena a tu pueblo que coja lo mejor de ellas"". Yo os haré ver la morada de los perversos. "

7.146. Apartaré de Mis signos a quienes se ensoberbezcan sin razón en la tierra. Sea cual sea el signo que ven, no creen en él. Si ven el camino de la buena dirección, no lo toman como camino, pero si ven el camino del descarrío, sí que lo toman como camino. Y esto es así porque han desmentido Nuestros signos y no han hecho caso de ellos.

7.147. Vanas serán las obras de quienes desmintieron Nuestros signos y la existencia de la otra vida. ¿Podrán ser retribuidos por otra cosa que por lo que hicieron?

7.148. Y el pueblo de Moisés, ido éste, hizo un ternero de sus aderezos, un cuerpo que mugía. ¿Es que no vieron que no les hablaba ni les dirigía? Lo cogieron y obraron impíamente.

7.149. " Y, cuando se arrepintieron y vieron que se habían extraviado, dijeron: ""Si nuestro Señor no se apiada de nosotros y nos perdona, seremos, ciertamente, de los que pierden"". "

7.150. " Y, cuando Moisés regresó a su pueblo, airado y dolido, dijo: ""¡Qué mal os habéis portado, luego de irme y dejaros! ¿Es que queréis adelantar el juicio de vuestro Señor?"" Y arrojó las Tablas y, cogiendo de la cabeza a su hermano, lo arrastró hacia sí. Dijo: ""¡Hijo de mi madre! La gente me ha humillado y casi me mata. ¡No hagas, pues, que los enemigos se alegren de mi desgracia! ¡No me pongas con el pueblo impío!"" "

7.151. " Dijo: ""¡Señor! ¡Perdónanos a mí y a mi hermano, e introdúcenos en Tu misericordia! Tú eres la Suma Misericordia"". "

7.152. A quienes cogieron el ternero les alcanzará la ira de su Señor y la humillación en la vida de acá. Así retribuiremos a los que inventan.

7.153. Con quienes, habiendo obrado mal, luego se arrepientan y crean, tu Señor será, sí, indulgente, misericordioso.

7.154. Cuando se calmó la ira de Moisés cogió las Tablas. Su texto contiene dirección y misericordia para quienes temen a su Señor.

7.155. " Moisés eligió de su pueblo a setenta hombres para asistir a Nuestro encuentro. Cuando les sorprendió el Temblor dijo: ""¡Señor! Si hubieras querido, les habrías hecho perecer antes y a mí también. ¿Vas a hacernos perecer por lo que han hecho los tontos de nuestro pueblo? Esto no es más que una prueba Tuya, que Te sirve para extraviar o dirigir a quien quieres. ¡Tú eres nuestro Amigo! Perdónanos, pues, y apiádate de nosotros! Nadie perdona tan bien como Tú. "

7.156. " Destínanos bien en la vida de acá y en la otra. Nos hemos vuelto a Ti"". Dijo: ""Inflijo Mi castigo a quien quiero, pero Mi misericordia es omnímoda"". Destinaré a ella a quienes teman a Alá y den el azaque y a quienes crean en Nuestros signos. "

7.157. a quienes sigan al Enviado, el Profeta de los gentiles, a quien ven mencionado en sus textos: en la Tora y en el Evangelio, que les ordena lo que está bien y les prohíbe lo que está mal, les declara lícitas las cosas buenas e ilícitas las impuras, y les libera de sus cargas y de las cadenas que sobre ellos pesaban. Los que crean en él, le sostengan y auxilien, los que sigan la Luz enviada abajo con él, ésos prosperarán.

7.158. " Di: ""¡Hombres Yo soy el Enviado de Alá a todos vosotros, de Aquél a Quien pertenece el dominio de los cielos y de la tierra. No hay más dios que Él. Él da la vida y da la muerte. ¡Creed, pues, en Alá y en su Enviado, el Profeta de los gentiles, que cree en Alá y en Sus palabras! ¡Y seguidle! Quizás, así, seáis bien dirigidos"". "

7.159. En el pueblo de Moisés había una comunidad que se dirigía según la Verdad, y que, gracias a ella, observaba la justicia.

7.160. " Los dividimos en doce tribus, como comunidades. Cuando el pueblo pidió agua a Moisés, inspiramos a éste ""¡Golpea la roca con tu vara!"". Y brotaron de ella doce manantiales. Todos sabían de cuál debían beber. Hicimos que se les nublara y les enviamos de lo alto el maná y las codornices: ""¡Comed de las cosas buenas de que os hemos proveído."" Y no fueron injustos con Nosotros, sino que lo fueron consigo mismos. "

7.161. " Y cuando se les dijo: ""Habitad en esta ciudad y comed cuanto queráis de lo que en ella haya. Decid '¡Perdón!' ¡Entrad por la puerta prosternándoos! Os perdonaremos vuestros pecados y daremos más a los que hagan el bien"". "

7.162. Pero los impíos de ellos cambiaron por otras las palabras ¡que se les habían dicho y les enviamos un castigo del cielo por haber obrado impíamente.

7.163. Y pregúntales por aquella ciudad, a orillas del mar, cuyos habitantes violaban el sábado. Los sábados venían a ellos los peces a flor de agua y los otros días no venían a ellos. Les probamos así por haber obrado perversamente.

7.164. " Y cuando unos dijeron: ""¿Por qué exhortáis a un pueblo que Alá va a hacer perecer o a castigar severamente?"" Dijeron: ""Para que vuestro Señor nos disculpe. Quizás, así teman a Alá"". "

7.165. Y, cuando hubieron olvidado lo que se les había recordado, salvamos a quienes habían prohibido el mal e infligimos un mal castigo a los impíos, por haber obrado perversamente.

7.166. " Y, cuando desatendieron las prohibiciones, les dijimos: ""¡Convertíos en monos repugnantes!"" "

7.167. Y cuando tu Señor anunció que enviaría, ciertamente, contra ellos hasta el día de la Resurrección a gente que les impusiera un duro castigo. Ciertamente, tu Señor es rápido en castigar, pero también es indulgente, misericordioso.

7.168. Los dividimos en la tierra en comunidades. De ellos, había unos que eran justos y otros que no. Les probamos con bendiciones e infortunios. Quizás, así, se convirtieran.

7.169. " Sus sucesores, habiendo heredado la Escritura, se apoderan de los bienes de este mundo, diciendo: ""Ya se nos perdonará"". Y si se les ofrecen otros bienes, semejantes a los primeros, se apoderan también de ellos. ¿No se concertó con ellos el pacto de la Escritura , según el cual no dirían nada contra Alá sino la verdad? Y eso que han estudiado cuanto en ella hay... Pero la Morada Postrera es mejor para quienes temen a Alá - ¿es que no razonáis?-, "

7.170. para los que se aferran a la Escritura y hacen la azalá. No dejaremos de remunerar a quienes obren bien.

7.171. " Y cuando sacudimos la montaña sobre ellos como si hubiera sido un pabellón y creyeron que se les venía encima: ""¡Coged con fuerza lo que os hemos dado y recordad bien su contenido! Quizás, así, temáis a Alá"". "

7.172. " Y cuando tu Señor sacó de los riñones de los hijos de Adán a su descendencia y les hizo atestiguar contra sí mismos: ""¿No soy yo vuestro Señor?"" Dijeron: ""¡Claro que sí, damos fe!"" No sea que dijerais el día de la Resurrección: ""No habíamos reparado en ello"". "

7.173. " O que dijerais: ""Nuestros padres eran ya asociadores y nosostros no somos más que sus descendientes. ¿Vas a hacernos perecer por lo que los falsarios han hecho?"" "

7.174. Así explicamos las aleyas. Quizás así se conviertan.

7.175. Cuéntales lo que pasó con aquél a quien dimos Nuestros signos y se deshizo de ellos. El Demonio le persiguió y fue de los descarriados.

7.176. Si hubiéramos querido, le habríamos levantado con ellos. Pero se apegó a la tierra y siguió su pasión. Pasó con él como pasa con el perro: jadea lo mismo si le atacas que si le dejas en paz. Así es la gente que desmiente Nuestros signos. Cuéntales estas cosas. Quizás, así, reflexionen.

7.177. ¡Qué mal ejemplo da la gente que desmiente Nuestros signos y es injusta consigo misma!

7.178. Aquél a quien Alá dirige está en el buen camino. Aquéllos, en cambio, a quienes Él extravía, son los que pierden.

7.179. Hemos creado para la gehena a muchos de los genios y de los hombres. Tienen corazones con los que no comprenden, ojos con los que no ven, oídos con los que no oyen. Son como rebaños. No, aún más extraviados. Esos tales son los que no se preocupan.

7.180. Alá posee los nombres más bellos. Empléalos, pues, para invocarle y apártate de quienes los profanen, que serán retribuidos con arreglo a sus obras.

7.181. Entre nuestras criaturas hay una comunidad que se dirige según la Verdad y que, gracias a ella, observa la justicia.

7.182. A quienes desmientan Nuestos signos les conduciremos paso a paso, sin que sepan como.

7.183. Y les concedo una prórroga. Mi estratagema es segura.

7.184. ¿No reflexionan? Su paisano no es un poseso. Es sólo un monitor que habla claro.

7.185. ¿No han considerado el reino de los cielos y de la tierra y todo lo que Alá ha creado? ¿Y que tal vez se acerque su fin? ¿En qué anuncio, después de éste, van a creer?

7.186. Aquél a quien Alá extravía, no podrá encontrar quien le dirija. Él les dejará que yerren ciegos en su rebeldía.

7.187. " Te preguntan por la Hora: ""¿Cuándo llegará?"" Di: ""Sólo mi Señor tiene conocimiento de ella. Nadie sino Él la manifestará a su tiempo. Abruma en los cielos y en la tierra. No vendrá a vosotros sino de repente"",. Te preguntan a ti como si estuvieras bien enterado. Di: ""Sólo Alá tiene conocimiento de ella"". Pero la mayoría de los hombres no saben. "

7.188. " Di: ""Yo no dispongo de nada que pueda aprovecharme o dañarme sino tanto cuanto Alá quiera. Si yo conociera lo oculto, abundaría en bienes y no me alcazaría el mal. Pero no soy sino un monitor, un nuncio de buenas nuevas para gente que cree"". "

7.189. " Él es Quien os ha creado de una sola persona, de la que ha sacado a su cónyuge para que encuentre quietud en ella. Cuando yació con ella, ésta llevó una carga ligera, con la que iba de acá para allá, pero cuando se sintió pesada, invocaron ambos a Alá, su Señor. ""Si nos das un hijo bueno, seremos, ciertamente, de los agradecidos. "

7.190. Pero, cuando les dio uno bueno, pusieron a Alá asociados en lo que Él les había dado. ¡Y Alá está por encima de lo que Le asocian!

7.191. ¿Le asocian dioses que no crean nada -antes bien, ellos mismos han sido creados-

7.192. y que no pueden ni auxiliarles a ellos ni auxiliarse a sí mismos?

7.193. Si les llamáis a la Dirección, no os siguen. Les da lo mismo que les llaméis o no.

7.194. Aquéllos a quienes invocáis, en lugar de invocar a Alá, son siervos como vosotros. ¡Invocadles, pues, y que os escuchen, si es verdad lo que decís...!

7.195. " ¿Tienen pies para andar, manos para asir, ojos para ver, oídos para oír? Di: ""¡Invocad a vuestros asociados y urdid algo contra mí! ¡No me hagáis esperar! "

7.196. Mi amigo es Alá, Que ha revelado la Escritura y Que elige a los justos como amigos.

7.197. " Y los que vosotros invocáis, en lugar de invocarle a Él, no pueden auxiliaros a vosotros ni auxiliarse a sí mismos"". "

7.198. ¡Si les llamáis a la Dirección, no oyen. Les ves que te miran sin verte.

7.199. ¡Sé indulgente, prescribe el bien y apártate de los ignorantes!

7.200. Si el Demonio te incita al mal, busca refugio en Alá. Él todo lo oye, todo lo sabe.

7.201. Cuando los que temen a Alá sufren una aparición del Demonio, se dejan amonestar y ven claro.

7.202. A sus hermanos, en cambio, persisten en mantenerles descarriados.

7.203. " Y si no les traes un signo, dicen: ""¡Cómo! ¿Por qué no te has escogido uno?"" Di: ""Yo no hago más que seguir lo que mi Señor me revela"". Ésas son pruebas visibles de vuestro Señor, dirección y misericordia para gente que cree. "

7.204. Y, cuando se recite el Corán, ¡escuchadlo en silencio! Quizás así se os tenga piedad.

7.205. Invoca a tu Señor en tu interior, humilde y temerosamente, a media voz, mañana y tarde, y no seas de los despreocupados.

7.206. Los que están junto a tu Señor no tienen a menos servirle. Le glorifican y se prosternan ante Él.

7.1. Alif Lám Mím Sád.

7.2. Ein Buch, zu dir hinabgesandt - so laß deswegen keine Bangigkeit sein in deiner Brust -, auf daß du damit warnest: eine Ermahnung für die Gläubigen.

7.3. Folget dem, was zu euch herabgesandt ward von eurem Herrn, und folget keinen andern Beschützern außer Ihm. Wie wenig seid ihr (dessen) eingedenk!

7.4. Wie so manche Stadt haben Wir zerstört! Unsere Strafe kam über sie des Nachts oder während sie schliefen am Mittag,

7.5. "Und ihr Ruf, da Unsere Strafe über sie kam, war nichts anderes als daß sie sprachen: ""Wir waren fürwahr Frevler!"""

7.6. Wahrlich, fragen werden Wir jene, zu denen (die Gesandten) geschickt wurden, und fragen werden Wir die Gesandten.

7.7. Dann werden Wir ihnen wahrlich (ihre Taten) aufzählen mit Wissen, denn Wir waren niemals abwesend.

7.8. Und das Wägen an jenem Tage wird wahrhaftig sein. Deren Waagschale dann schwer ist, die werden Erfolg haben.

7.9. Deren Waagschale aber leicht ist, das sind jene, die ihre Seelen zugrunde gerichtet haben, weil sie sich vergingen gegen Unsere Zeichen.

7.10. Wir hatten euch auf der Erde festgesetzt und euch darin die Mittel bereitet zum Unterhalt. Wie wenig seid ihr dankbar!

7.11. "Und Wir haben euch hervorgebracht, dann gaben Wir euch Gestalt, dann sprachen Wir zu den Engeln: ""Unterwerfet euch Adam"", und sie alle unterwarfen sich. Nur Iblis nicht, er gehörte nicht zu denen, die sich unterwerfen."

7.12. "Er sprach: ""Was hinderte dich, daß du dich nicht unterwarfest, als Ich es dir gebot?"" Er sagte: ""Ich bin besser als er. Du hast mich aus Feuer erschaffen, ihn aber erschufst Du aus Lehm!"""

7.13. "Er sprach, ""Hinab mit dir von hier, es ziemt sich nicht für dich, hier hoffärtig zu sein. Hinaus denn, du bist wahrlich der Erniedrigten einer."""

7.19. O Adam, weile du und dein Weib in dem Garten und esset, wo immer ihr wollt, nur nähert euch nicht diesem Baume, sonst seid ihr Ungerechte.

7.20. "Doch Satan flüsterte ihnen Böses ein, daß er ihnen kundtun möchte, was ihnen verborgen war von ihrer Scham. Er sprach: ""Euer Herr hat euch diesen Baum nur deshalb verboten, damit ihr nicht Engel werdet oder Ewiglebende."""

7.21. "Und er schwor ihnen: ""Gewiß, ich bin euch ein aufrichtiger Ratgeber."""

7.22. "So verführte er sie durch Trug. Und als sie von dem Baume kosteten, da ward ihre Scham ihnen offenbar und sie begannen, sich in die Blätter des Gartens zu hüllen. Und ihr Herr rief sie: ""Habe Ich euch nicht diesen Baum verwehrt und euch gesagt: ""Wahrlich, Satan ist euch ein offenkundiger Feind""?"""

7.23. "Sie sprachen: ""Unser Herr, wir haben wider uns selbst gesündigt, und wenn Du uns nicht verzeihst und Dich unser erbarmst, dann werden wir gewiß unter den Verlorenen sein."""

7.24. "Er sprach: ""Hinab mit euch, die einen von euch sind den anderen feind. Und es sei euch auf der Erde ein Aufenthaltsort und eine Versorgung auf Zeit."""

7.25. "Er sprach: ""Dort sollt ihr leben, und dort sollt ihr sterben, und von dort sollt ihr hervorgebracht werden."""

7.26. O Kinder Adams, Wir gaben euch Kleidung, eure Scham zu bedecken, und zum Schmuck, doch das Kleid der Frömmigkeit - das ist das beste. Dies ist eins der Zeichen Allahs, auf daß sie (dessen) eingedenk sein mögen.

7.27. O Kinder Adams, laßt Satan euch nicht verführen, wie er eure Eltern aus dem Garten vertrieb, ihnen ihre Kleidung raubend, auf daß er ihnen ihre Scham zeigte. Wahrlich, er sieht euch, er und seine Schar, von wo ihr sie nicht seht. Denn siehe, Wir haben die Teufel zu Freunden derer gemacht, die nicht glauben.

7.28. "Und wenn sie eine Schandtat begehen, sagen sie: ""Wir fanden unsere Väter dabei, und Allah hat sie uns befohlen."" Sprich: ""Allah befiehlt niemals Schandtaten. Wollt ihr denn von Allah reden, was ihr nicht wisset?"""

7.29. "Sprich: ""Mein Herr hat Gerechtigkeit befohlen. Sammelt eure Aufmerksamkeit (zu jeder Zeit und) an jeder Stätte der Andacht, und rufet Ihn an in lauterem Gehorsam gegen Ihn. Wie Er euch ins Dasein gebracht, so sollt ihr zurückkehren."""

7.30. Einige hat Er geleitet, anderen aber ward nach Gebühr Irrtum zuteil. Sie haben sich die Teufel zu Freunden genommen und Allah ausgeschlossen, und sie wähnen, sie seien rechtgeleitet.

7.31. O Kinder Adams, leget euren Schmuck an (zu jeder Zeit und) an jeder Stätte der Andacht, und esset und trinket, doch überschreitet das Maß nicht, wahrlich, Er liebt nicht die Unmäßigen.

7.32. "Sprich: ""Wer hat den Schmuck Allahs verboten, den Er für Seine Diener hervorgebracht, und die guten Dinge der Versorgung?"" Sprich: ""Sie sind für die Gläubigen in diesem Leben (und) ausschließlich (für sie) am Tage der Auferstehung."" Also machen Wir die Zeichen klar für Leute, die Kenntnis besitzen."

7.33. "Sprich: ""Mein Herr hat nur Schändlichkeiten verboten, seien sie offen oder verborgen, dazu Sünde und ungerechte Gewalttat, und daß ihr Allah das zur Seite setzet, wozu Er keine Vollmacht herabsandte, und daß ihr von Allah aussaget, was ihr nicht wisset."""

7.34. Jedem Volk ist eine Frist gesetzt, und wenn ihre Stunde gekommen ist, dann können sie (sie) auch nicht um einen Augenblick hinausschieben, noch können sie (sie) vorverschieben.

7.35. O Kinder Adams, wenn zu euch Gesandte kommen aus eurer Mitte, die euch Meine Zeichen verkünden - wer dann gottesfürchtig ist und gute Werke tut, keine Furcht soll über sie kommen, noch sollen sie trauern.

7.36. Die aber, die Unsere Zeichen verwerfen und sich mit Verachtung von ihnen abwenden, die sollen die Bewohner des Feuers sein, darin müßen sie bleiben.

7.37. "Wer ist wohl frevelhafter als der, der eine Lüge wider Allah erdichtet oder Seine Zeichen der Lüge zeiht? Diesen soll das ihnen bestimmte Los werden, bis Unsere Boten zu ihnen kommen, ihnen den Tod zu bringen, sie werden sprechen: ""Wo ist nun das, was ihr statt Allah anzurufen pflegtet?"" Jene werden antworten: ""Wir können sie nicht finden"", und sie werden gegen sich selbst Zeugnis ablegen, daß sie Ungläubige waren."

7.38. "Er wird sprechen: ""Tretet ein in das Feuer zu den Scharen der Dschinn und der Menschen, die vor euch dahingingen."" Sooft eine Schar eintritt, wird sie ihre Schwesterschar verfluchen, bis endlich, wenn sie alle nacheinander darin angekommen sind, die letzten von den ersten sprechen werden: ""Unser Herr, diese da haben uns irregeführt, so gib ihnen die Pein des Feuers mehrfach."" Er wird sprechen: ""Jeder hat mehrfach, allein ihr wißt es nicht."""

7.39. "Und die ersten werden zu den letzten sagen: ""So hattet ihr denn keinen Vorzug vor uns, kostet also die Strafe für das, was ihr getan."""

7.40. Die Unsere Zeichen verwerfen und sich mit Verachtung von ihnen abwenden, denen werden die Pforten des Himmels nicht aufgemacht, noch werden sie in den Garten eingehen, ehe denn ein Kamel durch ein Nadelöhr geht. Also belohnen Wir die Missetäter.

7.41. Sie sollen die Hölle zum Pfühl haben und als Decke über sich. Also belohnen Wir die Ungerechten.

7.42. Die aber, die glauben und gute Werke tun - Wir belasten keine Seele über ihr Vermögen -, sie sind die Bewohner des Himmels, darin sollen sie ewig weilen.

7.43. "Und Wir wollen alles hinwegräumen, was an Groll in ihren Herzen sein mag. Unter ihnen sollen Ströme fließen. Und sie werden sprechen: ""Aller Preis gehört Allah, Der uns zu diesem geleitet hat! Wir hätten nicht den Weg zu finden vermocht, hätte Allah uns nicht geleitet. Die Gesandten unseres Herrn haben in der Tat die Wahrheit gebracht."" Und es soll ihnen zugerufen werden: ""Das ist der Himmel, der euch zum Erbe gegeben ward für das, was ihr gewirkt."""

7.44. "Und die Bewohner des Himmels werden den Bewohnern der Hölle zurufen: ""Seht, wir haben als Wahrheit erfunden, was unser Herr uns verhieß Habt ihr auch als Wahrheit erfunden, was euer Herr verhieß?"" Jene werden sprechen: ""Ja."" Dann wird ein Ausrufer zwischen ihnen rufen: ""Der Fluch Allahs über die Missetäter,"

7.45. "Die abhalten von Allahs Weg und ihn zu krümmen suchen und die nicht an das Jenseits glauben!"""

7.46. "Und zwischen den zweien soll eine Trennung sein, und in den Höhen sind Leute, die alle an ihren Merkmalen erkennen werden. Sie werden der Schar des Himmels zurufen: ""Friede sei über euch!"" Diese sind (noch) nicht in den Himmel eingegangen, obwohl sie es erhoffen."

7.47. "Und wenn ihre Blicke sich den Bewohnern des Feuers zuwenden, sagen sie: ""Unser Herr, mache uns nicht zum Volk der Frevler."""

7.48. "Und die in den Höhen werden den Leuten, die sie an ihren Merkmalen erkennen, zurufen (und) sprechen: ""Nichts hat euch eure Menge gefruchtet, noch eure Hoffart."

7.49. "Sind das jene, von denen ihr schwuret, Allah würde ihnen nicht Barmherzigkeit erweisen?"" Gehet ein in das Paradies, keine Furcht soll über euch kommen, noch sollet ihr trauern."

7.50. "Und die Bewohner des Feuers werden den Bewohnern des Himmels zurufen: ""Schüttet etwas Wasser auf uns aus oder etwas von dem, was Allah euch gegeben hat."" Sie werden sprechen: ""Fürwahr, Allah hat beides verwehrt für die Ungläubigen,"

7.51. "Die ihren Glauben als einen Zeitvertreib und ein Spiel nahmen und die das irdische Leben betörte."" An diesem Tage nun werden Wir sie vergessen, wie sie die Begegnung an diesem ihren Tage vergaßen und wie sie Unsere Zeichen zu leugnen pflegten."

7.52. Und fürwahr, Wir haben ihnen ein Buch gebracht, das Wir mit Wissen darlegten, als eine Richtschnur und eine Barmherzigkeit für Leute, die da glauben.

7.53. "Warten sie auf etwas denn seine Erfüllung? An dem Tage, da seine Erfüllung kommt, werden jene, die es vordem vergessen hatten, sagen: ""Die Gesandten unseres Herrn haben in der Tat die Wahrheit gebracht. Haben wir wohl Fürsprecher, die für uns Fürsprache einlegen? Oder könnten wir zurückgeschickt werden, auf daß wir anderes tun möchten, als wir zu tun pflegten?"" Sie haben ihre Seelen zugrunde gerichtet, und das, was sie zu erdichten gewohnt waren, hat sie im Stich gelassen."

7.54. Siehe, euer Herr ist Allah, Der in sechs Zeiten die Himmel und die Erde erschuf, dann setzte Er Sich auf den Thron. Er läßt die Nacht den Tag verhüllen, der ihr eilends folgt. Und (erschuf) die Sonne und den Mond und die Sterne, Seinem Gesetz dienstbar. Wahrlich, Sein ist die Schöpfung und das Gesetz! Segensreich ist Allah, der Herr der Welten.

7.55. Rufet zu eurem Herrn in Demut und im verborgenen. Wahrlich, Er liebt die Übertreter nicht.

7.56. Und stiftet nicht Unfrieden auf Erden, nach ihrer Regelung, und rufet Ihn an in Furcht und Hoffnung. Wahrlich, Allahs Barmherzigkeit ist nahe denen, die Gutes tun.

7.57. Er ist es, Der Seiner Barmherzigkeit die Winde als frohe Botschaft voraussendet, bis daß, wenn sie eine schwere Wolke tragen, Wir sie zu einem toten Lande treiben, dann lassen Wir aus ihr Wasser niederregnen und bringen damit Früchte hervor von jeglicher Art. Also bringen Wir auch die Toten hervor, auf daß ihr dessen eingedenk sein möchtet.

7.58. Und das gute Land - seine Pflanzen spriessen hervor nach dem Gebot seines Herrn, das aber schlecht ist, (seine Pflanzen) spriessen nur kümmerlich. Also wenden und wenden Wir die Zeichen für Leute, die dankbar sind.

7.59. "Wir entsandten Noah zu seinem Volk und er sprach: ""O mein Volk, dienet Allah, ihr habt keinen andern Gott als Ihn. Wahrlich, ich fürchte für euch die Strafe des Großen Tags."""

7.60. "Es sprachen die Häupter seines Volks: ""Wahrlich, wir sehen dich in offenkundigem Irrtum."""

7.61. "Er sprach: ""O mein Volk, es ist kein Irrtum in mir, sondern ich bin ein Gesandter vom Herrn der Welten."

7.62. Ich überbringe euch die Botschaften meines Herrn und gebe euch aufrichtigen Rat, und ich weiß durch Allah, was ihr nicht wisset.

7.63. "Wundert ihr euch, daß eine Ermahnung zu euch gekommen ist von eurem Herrn, durch einen Mann aus eurer Mitte, auf daß er euch warne und daß ihr rechtschaffen werdet und vielleicht Erbarmen findet?"""

7.64. Doch sie leugneten ihn, dann erretteten Wir ihn und die bei ihm waren in der Arche, und ließen jene ertrinken, die Unsere Zeichen verwarfen. Sie waren wahrlich ein blindes Volk.

7.65. "Und zu den Ad (entsandten Wir) ihren Bruder Hüd. Er sprach: ""O mein Volk, dienet Allah, ihr habt keinen anderen Gott als Ihn. Wollt ihr also nicht gottesfürchtig sein?"""

7.66. "Die ungläubigen Häupter seines Volkes sprachen: ""Wahrlich, wir sehen dich in Torheit, und wahrlich, wir erachten dich für einen Lügner."""

7.67. "Er antwortete: ""O mein Volk, es ist keine Torheit in mir, sondern ich bin ein Gesandter vom Herrn der Welten."

7.68. Ich überbringe euch die Botschaften meines Herrn, und ich bin euch ein aufrichtiger und getreuer Berater.

7.69. "Wundert ihr euch, daß eine Ermahnung zu euch gekommen ist von eurem Herrn durch einen Mann aus eurer Mitte, auf daß er euch warne? Und gedenket (der Zeit), da Er euch zu Erben einsetzte nach dem Volke Noahs und euch reichlich mehrte an Leibesbeschaffenheit. Gedenket denn der Gnaden Allahs, auf daß ihr Erfolg habt."""

7.70. "Sie sprachen: ""Bist du zu uns gekommen, damit wir Allah allein verehren und das verlassen, was unsere Väter anbeteten? Bring uns denn her, was du uns androhst, wenn du wahrhaftig bist!"""

7.71. "Er antwortete: ""Niedergefallen ist nunmehr auf euch Strafe und Zorn von eurem Herrn. Wollt ihr mit mir über Namen streiten, die ihr nanntet - ihr und eure Väter -, wozu Allah keine Vollmacht hinabsandte? Wartet denn, ich bin mit euch unter den Wartenden."""

7.72. Sodann erretteten Wir ihn und die mit ihm waren durch Unsere Barmherzigkeit, und Wir schnitten den letzten Zweig derer ab, die Unsere Zeichen leugneten und nicht Gläubige waren.

7.73. "Und zu den Thamüd (entsandten Wir) ihren Bruder Sáleh. Er sprach: ""O mein Volk, dienet Allah, ihr habt keinen anderen Gott als Ihn. Wahrlich, nunmehr ist zu euch ein deutlicher Beweis von eurem Herrn gekommen - diese Kamelstute Allahs, ein Zeichen für euch. So lasset sie auf Allahs Erde weiden und tut ihr nichts zuleide, sonst würde euch schmerzliche Strafe treffen."

7.74. "Und gedenket (der Zeit), da Er euch zu Erben einsetzte nach den Ad und euch eine Stätte anwies im Land, ihr erbaut Paläste in seinen Ebenen und grabt Wohnungen in die Berge. Seid also der Gnaden Allahs eingedenk und verübt nicht Unheil auf Erden, indem ihr Unfrieden stiftet."""

7.75. "Die Häupter seines Volkes, die hoffärtig waren, sprachen zu denen, die als schwach galten - das waren die Gläubigen unter ihnen -: ""Seid ihr gewiß, daß Sáleh ein Abgesandter seines Herrn ist?"" Sie antworteten: ""Wahrlich, wir glauben an das, womit er gesandt ward."""

7.76. "Da sprachen die Hoffärtigen: ""Wir glauben nicht an das, woran ihr glaubt."""

7.77. "Dann schnitten sie der Kamelstute die Sehnen durch und trotzten dem Befehl ihres Herrn und sprachen: ""O Sáleh, bring uns das her, was du uns androhst, wenn du einer der Gesandten bist."""

7.78. Dann erfaßte sie das Erdbeben, und am Morgen lagen sie in ihren Wohnungen auf dem Boden hingestreckt.

7.79. "Da wandte er sich von ihnen ab und sprach: ""O mein Volk, ich überbrachte euch die Botschaft meines Herrn und bot euch aufrichtigen Rat an, ihr aber liebt die treuen Berater nicht."""

7.80. "Und (Wir entsandten) Lot, da er zu seinem Volke sprach: ""Wollt ihr eine Schandtat begehen, wie sie keiner in der Welt vor euch je begangen hat?"

7.81. "Ihr naht Männern in Begierde anstatt Frauen. Ja, ihr seid ein ausschweifendes Volk."""

7.82. "Da war die Antwort seines Volkes nichts anderes, als daß sie sprachen: ""Treibt sie hinaus aus eurer Stadt, denn sie sind Leute, die sich reinsprechen möchten."""

7.83. Sodann erretteten Wir ihn und die Seinen, ausgenommen sein Weib, sie gehörte zu denen, die zurückblieben.

7.84. Und Wir ließen einen gewaltigen Regen über sie niedergehen. Nun sieh, wie das Ende der Sünder war!

7.85. "Und zu Midian (entsandten Wir) ihren Bruder Schoäb. Er sprach: ""O mein Volk, dienet Allah, ihr habt keinen anderen Gott als Ihn. Ein deutliches Zeichen von eurem Herrn ist nunmehr zu euch gekommen. Darum gebet volles Maß und Gewicht und schmälert den Menschen ihre Dinge nicht und stiftet nicht Unfrieden auf Erden, nach ihrer Regelung. Das ist besser für euch, wenn ihr Gläubige seid."

7.86. Und lauert nicht drohend auf jedem Weg, indem ihr die von Allahs Weg abtrünnig machen möchtet, die an Ihn glauben, und indem ihr ihn (den Weg) zu krümmen sucht. Und denkt daran, wie ihr wenige wart und Er euch mehrte. Und schauet, wie das Ende derer war, die Unfrieden stifteten!

7.87. "Und wenn unter euch solche sind, die an das glauben, womit ich gesandt bin, und andere, die nicht glauben, so habet Geduld, bis Allah zwischen uns richtet, denn Er ist der beste Richter."""

7.88. "Die Häupter seines Volkes, die hoffärtig waren, sprachen: ""O Schoäb, wir wollen dich und die Gläubigen mit dir aus unserer Stadt hinaustreiben, oder ihr kehrtet zu unserem Bekenntnis zurück."" Er sprach: ""Auch wenn wir nicht willens sind?"

7.89. "Wir hätten ja eine Lüge wider Allah erdichtet, wenn wir zu eurem Bekenntnis zurückkehren würden, nachdem Allah uns daraus gerettet hat. Es ziemt sich nicht für uns, daß wir dazu zurückkehren, es sei denn, daß Allah, unser Herr, es will. Unser Herr umfaßt alle Dinge mit Wissen. Auf Allah vertrauen wir. O unser Herr, entscheide denn Du zwischen uns und zwischen unserem Volk nach Wahrheit, denn Du bist der beste Entscheider."""

7.90. "Die Häupter seines Volkes, die ungläubig waren, sprachen: ""Wenn ihr Schoäb folgt, dann seid ihr fürwahr Verlorene."""

7.91. Dann erfaßte sie das Erdbeben, und am Morgen lagen sie in ihren Wohnungen auf dem Boden hingestreckt.

7.92. Die Schoäb der Lüge beschuldigt hatten, die wurden, als hätten sie nie darin gewohnt. Die Schoäb der Lüge beschuldigt hatten - sie waren nun die Verlorenen.

7.93. "Dann wandte er sich von ihnen ab und sprach: ""O mein Volk, wahrlich, ich überbrachte euch die Botschaften meines Herrn und gab euch aufrichtigen Rat. Wie sollte ich mich nun betrüben über ein ungläubiges Volk?"""

7.94. Nie sandten Wir einen Propheten in eine Stadt, ohne daß Wir ihre Bewohner mit Not und Drangsal heimsuchten, auf daß sie sich demütigen möchten.

7.95. "Darauf verwandelten Wir den üblen Zustand in einen guten, bis sie anwuchsen und sprachen: ""Auch unsere Väter erfuhren Leid und Freude."" Dann erfaßten Wir sie unversehens, ohne daß sie es merkten."

7.96. Hätte aber das Volk (jener) Städte geglaubt und wären sie rechtschaffen gewesen, so hätten Wir ihnen ganz gewiß vom Himmel und von der Erde Segnungen eröffnet. Doch sie leugneten, also erfaßten Wir sie um dessentwillen, was sie sich erwarben.

7.97. Sind denn die Bewohner (dieser) Städte sicher, daß Unsere Strafe nicht über sie kommt zur Nachtzeit, während sie schlafen?

7.98. Oder sind die Bewohner (dieser) Städte sicher, daß Unsere Strafe nicht über sie kommt zur Mittagszeit, während sie beim Spiel sind?

7.99. Sind sie denn sicher vor dem Plan Allahs? Aber niemand kann sich vor dem Plan Allahs sicher fühlen, außer dem Volk der Verlierenden.

7.100. Leuchtet das jenen nicht ein, die die Erde ererbt haben nach ihren (früheren) Bewohnern, daß Wir, wenn es Uns gefällt, sie treffen können für ihre Sünden und ihre Herzen versiegeln, so daß sie nicht verstehen?

7.101. Dies sind die Städte, deren Kunde Wir dir gegeben haben. Ihre Gesandten waren zu ihnen gekommen mit deutlichen Zeichen. Allein sie mochten nicht an das glauben, was sie zuvor geleugnet hatten. Also versiegelt Allah die Herzen der Ungläubigen.

7.102. Und bei den meisten von ihnen fanden Wir kein Worthalten, sondern Wir erfanden die meisten von ihnen als Wortbrüchige.

7.103. Später dann, nach ihnen, entsandten Wir Moses mit Unseren Zeichen zu Pharao und seinen Häuptern, doch sie trieben Frevel mit ihnen. Nun schau, wie das Ende derer war, die Unfrieden stifteten!

7.104. "Und Moses sprach: ""O Pharao, ich bin ein Gesandter vom Herrn der Welten."

7.105. "Es ziemt sich, daß ich von Allah nichts anderes als die Wahrheit rede. Ich bin zu euch gekommen mit einem deutlichen Zeichen von eurem Herrn, so laß denn die Kinder Israels mit mir ziehn."""

7.106. "Er erwiderte: ""Wenn du wirklich mit einem Zeichen gekommen bist, so weise es vor, wenn du zu den Wahrhaftigen gehörst."""

7.107. Da warf er seinen Stab nieder und siehe, er ward deutlich eine Schlange.

7.108. Dann zog er seine Hand hervor und siehe, sie ward den Beschauern weiß.

7.109. "Die Häupter von Pharaos Volk sprachen: ""Wahrlich, das ist ein geschickter Zauberer."

7.110. "Er möchte euch aus eurem Land vertreiben. Was ratet ihr nun?"""

7.111. "Sie sprachen: ""Halte ihn und seinen Bruder hin und sende Vorlader in die Städte aus,"

7.112. "Daß sie jeden kundigen Zauberer zu dir bringen sollen."""

7.113. "Und die Zauberer kamen zu Pharao (und) sprachen: ""Uns wird doch gewiß eine Belohnung zuteil, wenn wir obsiegen?"""

7.114. "Er sprach: ""Jawohl, und ihr sollt zu den Nächsten gehören."""

7.115. "Sie sprachen: ""O Moses, entweder wirf du oder wir werfen (zuerst)."""

7.116. "Er antwortete: ""Werfet ihr hin!"" Und da sie geworfen hatten, bezauberten sie die Augen der Leute und versetzten sie in Furcht und brachten einen gewaltigen Zauber hervor."

7.117. "Und Wir offenbarten Moses: ""Wirf deinen Stab!"" Und siehe, er verschlang alles, was sie an Trug vollbracht."

7.118. So wurde die Wahrheit festgestellt, und ihre Werke erwiesen sich als nichtig.

7.119. Jene wurden damals besiegt, und beschämt kehrten sie um.

7.120. Und die Zauberer trieb es, daß sie niederfielen in Anbetung.

7.121. "Sie sprachen: ""Wir glauben an den Herrn der Welten,"

7.122. "Den Herrn Moses' und Aarons."""

7.123. "Da sprach Pharao: ""Ihr habt an ihn geglaubt, ehe ich es euch erlaubte. Gewiß, das ist eine List die ihr in der Stadt ersonnen habt, um ihre Bewohner daraus zu vertreiben, doch ihr sollt es bald erfahren."

7.124. "Wahrlich, für den Ungehorsam lasse ich euch Hände und Füße abhauen. Dann lasse ich euch alle kreuzigen."""

7.125. "Sie antworteten: ""Zu unserem Herrn kehren wir dann zurück."

7.126. "Du nimmst nur darum Rache an uns, weil wir an die Zeichen unseres Herrn glaubten, als sie zu uns gekommen. Unser Herr, gieße Standhaftigkeit in uns und laß uns sterben als Gottergebene."" "

7.127. "Die Häupter von Pharaos Volk sprachen: ""Willst du zulassen, daß Moses und sein Volk Unfrieden stiften im Land und dich und deine Götter verlassen?"" Er antwortete: ""Wir wollen ihre Söhne hinmorden und ihre Frauen am Leben lassen, denn wir haben über sie Gewalt."""

7.128. "Da sprach Moses zu seinem Volk: ""Flehet Allahs Hilfe an und seid standhaft. Wahrlich, die Erde ist Allahs, Er vererbt sie, wem Er will unter Seinen Dienern, und der Ausgang ist für die Gottesfürchtigen."""

7.129. "Sie antworteten: ""Wir litten Verfolgung, ehe du zu uns kamst und nachdem du zu uns gekommen."" Er sprach: ""Euer Herr wird bald euren Feind vertilgen und euch zu Herrschern im Land machen, damit Er sehe, wie ihr euch benehmt."""

7.130. Und Wir straften Pharaos Volk mit Dürre und Mangel an Früchten, auf daß sie sich ermahnen ließen.

7.131. "Doch als dann Gutes zu ihnen kam, sagten sie: ""Das gebührt uns."" Und wenn sie ein Übel befiel, so schrieben sie das Unheil Moses und den Seinigen zu. Nun ist doch gewiß ihr Unheil bei Allah allein, jedoch die meisten von ihnen wissen es nicht."

7.132. "Und sie sagten: ""Was du uns auch für ein Zeichen bringen magst, uns damit zu berücken, wir werden doch nicht an dich glauben."" "

7.133. Da sandten Wir über sie den Sturm und die Heuschrecken und die Läuse und die Frösche und das Blut - deutliche Zeichen -, doch sie betrugen sich hoffärtig und wurden ein sündiges Volk.

7.134. "Wenn immer aber das Strafgericht über sie kam, sagten sie: ""O Moses, bete für uns zu deinem Herrn in Berufung auf das, was Er dir verheißen! Wenn du die Strafe von uns entfernst, so werden wir dir ganz gewiß glauben und die Kinder Israels ganz gewiß mit dir ziehen lassen."""

7.135. Doch als Wir ihnen die Strafe erließen auf eine Frist, die sie vollenden sollten, siehe, da brachen sie das Wort.

7.136. Darauf straften Wir sie und ließen sie im Meer ertrinken, weil sie Unsere Zeichen als Lügen behandelten und ihrer nicht achteten.

7.137. Und Wir gaben dem Volk, das für schwach galt, die östlichen Teile des Landes zum Erbe und die westlichen Teile dazu, die Wir gesegnet hatten. Und das gnadenvolle Wort deines Herrn ward erfüllt an den Kindern Israels, weil sie standhaft waren, und Wir zerstörten alles, was Pharao und sein Volk geschaffen und was an hohen Bauten sie erbaut hatten,

7.138. "Wir brachten die Kinder Israels über das Meer, und sie kamen zu einem Volk, das seinen Götzen ergeben war. Sie sprachen ""O Moses, mache uns einen Gott, wie diese hier Götter haben."" Er sprach: ""Ihr seid ein unwissendes Volk."

7.139. "Diese hier aber - zertrümmert wird das werden, worin sie sind, und eitel wird all das sein, was sie tun."""

7.140. "Er sprach: ""Soll ich für euch einen anderen Gott fordern als Allah, obwohl Er euch erhöht hat über die Völker?"""

7.141. Und (gedenket der Zeit) da Wir euch erretteten vor den Leuten Pharaos, die euch mit bitterer Qual bedrückten, eure Söhne hinmordeten und eure Frauen verschonten. Und hierin ward euch eine große Gnade von eurem Herrn.

7.142. "Alsdann gaben Wir Moses eine Verheißung von dreißig Nächten und ergänzten sie mit zehn. So war die festgesetzte Zeit seines Herrn vollendet - vierzig Nächte. Und Moses sprach zu seinem Bruder Aaron: ""Vertritt mich bei meinem Volk und führe (es) richtig und folge nicht dem Pfade derer, die Unfrieden stiften."""

7.143. "Und als Moses zu Unserem Stelldichein kam und sein Herr zu ihm redete, da sprach er: ""Mein Herr, zeige (Dich) mir, auf daß ich Dich schauen mag."" Er antwortete: ""Nimmer siehst du Mich, doch blicke auf den Berg, wenn er unverrückt an seinem Ort bleibt, dann sollst du Mich schauen."" Als sein Herr Sich auf dem Berg offenbarte, da brach Er diesen in Stücke, und Moses stürzte ohnmächtig nieder. Und als er zu sich kam, sprach er: ""Heilig bist Du, ich bekehre mich zu Dir, und ich bin der erste der Gläubigen."""

7.144. "Er sprach: ""O Moses, Ich habe dich erwählt vor den Menschen durch Meine Sendung und durch Mein Wort. So nimm denn hin, was Ich dir gegeben, und sei einer der Dankbaren."""

7.145. "Wir schrieben für ihn auf die Tafeln über jegliches Ding - eine Ermahnung und eine Erklärung von allen Dingen: ""So halte sie fest und heiße dein Volk das Beste davon befolgen. Bald werde Ich euch die Stätte der Frevler zeigen."""

7.146. Abwenden aber will Ich von Meinen Zeichen diejenigen, die sich hoffärtig im Lande gebärden wider alles Recht, und wenn sie auch alle Zeichen sehen, so wollen sie nicht daran glauben, und wenn sie den Weg der Rechtschaffenheit sehen, so wollen sie ihn nicht als Weg annehmen, sehen sie aber den Weg des Irrtums, so nehmen sie ihn als Weg an. Dies, weil sie Unsere Zeichen als Lüge behandelten und ihrer nicht achteten.

7.147. Die Unsere Zeichen und die Begegnung des Jenseits leugnen, ihre Werke sind eitel. Können sie belohnt werden außer für das, was sie tun?

7.148. Das Volk Moses' machte, indes er fern war, aus seinen Schmucksachen ein blökendes Kalb - ein Bildwerk. Sahen sie denn nicht, daß es nicht zu ihnen sprach noch sie irgend des Weges leitete? Sie nahmen es sich, und sie wurden Frevler.

7.149. "Als sie dann von Reue erfaßt wurden und einsahen, daß sie wirklich irregegangen waren, da sprachen sie: ""Wenn Sich unser Herr nicht unser erbarmt und uns verzeiht, so werden wir ganz gewiß unter den Verlorenen sein."""

7.150. "Als Moses zu seinem Volke zurückkehrte, zornig und bekümmert, da sprach er: ""Schlimm ist, was ihr in meiner Abwesenheit an meiner Stelle verübtet. Wolltet ihr den Befehl eures Herrn beschleunigen?"" Und er warf die Tafeln hin und packte seinen Bruder beim Kopf, ihn zu sich zerrend. Er (Aaron) sprach: ""Sohn meiner Mutter, siehe, das Volk hielt mich für schwach, und fast hätten sie mich getötet. Drum lasse nicht die Feinde über mich frohlocken und schlage mich nicht zum Volk der Ungerechten."""

7.151. "(Moses) sprach ""Mein Herr, vergib mir und meinem Bruder und gewähre uns Zutritt zu Deiner Barmherzigkeit, denn Du bist der barmherzigste der Erbarmer."""

7.152. Die nun das Kalb sich nahmen, die wird der Zorn ihres Herrn ereilen und Schmach im Leben hienieden. Also lohnen Wir denen, die Lügen erdichten.

7.153. Die aber Böses taten und darauf bereuten und glaubten - wahrlich, dein Herr ist hernach allverzeihend, barmherzig.

7.154. Und als sich Moses' Zorn besänftigt hatte, nahm er die Tafeln, und in der Schrift darauf war Führung und Barmherzigkeit für jene, die ihren Herrn fürchten

7.155. "Da erwählte Moses aus seinem Volk siebzig Männer für das Stelldichein mit Uns. Doch als das Erdbeben sie ereilte, sprach er: ""Mein Herr, hättest Du es gewollt, Du hättest sie zuvor vertilgen können und mich ebenfalls. Willst Du uns denn austilgen um dessentwillen, was die Toren unter uns getan? Dies ist nur eine Prüfung von Dir. Damit erklärst Du den zum Irrenden, wen Du willst, und weisest den Weg, wem Du willst. Du bist unser Beschützer, so vergib uns denn und erbarme Dich unser, denn Du bist der beste der Verzeihenden."

7.156. "Und bestimme für uns Gutes in dieser Welt sowohl wie in der künftigen, denn zu Dir haben wir uns reuig gekehrt."" Er antwortete: ""Ich treffe mit Meiner Strafe, wen Ich will, doch Meine Barmherzigkeit umfaßt jedes Ding, so werde Ich sie bestimmen für jene, die recht handeln und die Zakat zahlen und die an Unsere Zeichen glauben.:"""

7.157. Die da folgen dem Gesandten, dem Propheten, dem Makellosen, den sie bei sich in der Thora und im Evangelium erwähnt finden - er befiehlt ihnen das Gute und verbietet ihnen das Böse, und er erlaubt ihnen die guten Dinge und verwehrt ihnen die schlechten, und er nimmt hinweg von ihnen ihre Last und die Fesseln, die auf ihnen lagen -, die also an ihn glauben und ihn stärken und ihm helfen und dem Licht folgen, das mit ihm hinabgesandt ward, die sollen Erfolg haben.

7.158. "Sprich: ""O Menschen, ich bin euch allen ein Gesandter Allahs, Des das Königreich der Himmel und der Erde ist. Es ist kein Gott außer Ihm. Er gibt Leben und Er läßt sterben. Darum glaubet an Allah und an Seinen Gesandten, den Propheten, den Makellosen, der an Allah glaubt und an Seine Worte, und folget ihm, auf daß ihr recht geleitet werdet."""

7.159. Und unter dem Volke Moses' ist eine Gemeinde, die durch die Wahrheit den Weg findet und danach Gerechtigkeit übt.

7.160. "Wir teilten sie in zwölf Stämme, (gesonderte) Nationen, und Wir offenbarten Moses, als sein Volk von ihm Trank forderte: ""Schlage an den Felsen mit deinem Stab."" Da entsprangen ihm zwölf Quellen: so kannte jeder Stamm seinen Trinkplatz. Und Wir ließen die Wolken sie überschatten und sandten ihnen Manna und Salwa hinab: ""Esset von den guten Dingen, die Wir euch beschert haben."" Und sie schädigten nicht Uns, sondern sich selbst haben sie Schaden getan."

7.161. "Und als ihnen gesagt wurde: ""Wohnet in dieser Stadt und esset von dem Ihren - wo immer ihr wollt - und sprechet: ""Vergebung!"" und gehet ein durch das Tor in Demut, Wir werden euch eure Sünden vergeben, wahrlich, Wir werden jene mehren, die Gutes tun."""

7.162. Da vertauschten die Ungerechten unter ihnen das Wort mit einem anderen, als zu ihnen gesprochen worden war. Darum sandten Wir ein Strafgericht vom Himmel über sie hernieder ob ihres frevelhaften Tuns.

7.163. Und frage sie nach der Stadt, die am Meer lag, und wie sie den Sabbat entweihten, wie ihre Fische scharenweise an ihrem Sabbattage zu ihnen kamen. Doch an dem Tage, da sie den Sabbat nicht feierten, da kamen sie nicht zu ihnen. Also prüften Wir sie, weil sie ungehorsam waren.

7.164. "Und als eine Gruppe unter ihnen sprach: ""Warum predigt ihr einem Volke, das, Allah austilgen oder mit einer strengen Strafe bestrafen will?"" - da antworteten sie: ""Zur Entschuldigung vor eurem Herrn, und damit sie rechtschaffen werden mögen """

7.165. Und als sie das vergaßen, womit sie ermahnt worden waren, da retteten Wir jene, die das Böse verhinderten, und erfaßten die Ungerechten mit peinlicher Strafe, weil sie ungehorsam waren.

7.166. "Als sie trotzig bei dem verharrten, was ihnen verboten war, da sprachen Wir zu ihnen: ""Werdet denn verächtliche Affen!"""

7.167. Und (gedenke der Zeit) da dein Herr verkündete, Er wolle gewißlich wider sie bis zum Tage der Auferstehung solche entsenden, die sie mit grimmer Pein bedrängen würden. Wahrlich, dein Herr ist schnell in der Bestrafung, wahrlich, Er ist allverzeihend, barmherzig.

7.168. Und Wir haben sie auf Erden verteilt in Volksstämme. Unter ihnen sind Rechtschaffene, und unter ihnen sind andere. Und Wir prüften sie durch Gutes und durch Böses, auf daß sie sich bekehren möchten.

7.169. "Es folgten ihnen Nachkommen, die die Schrift erbten, sie greifen aber nach den armseligen Gütern dieser niedrigen (Welt) und sagen: ""Es wird uns verziehen werden."" Doch wenn (abermals) derartige Güter zu ihnen kämen, sie griffen wiederum danach. Ward denn der Bund der Schrift nicht mit ihnen geschlossen, daß sie von Allah nichts aussagen würden als die Wahrheit? Und sie haben gelesen, was darin steht. Aber die Wohnung im Jenseits ist besser für die Gottesfürchtigen. Wollt ihr denn nicht begreifen?"

7.170. Und diejenigen, die an der Schrift festhalten und das Gebet verrichten - Wir lassen Rechtschaffenen den Lohn nicht verloren gehen.

7.171. "Und da Wir den Berg über ihnen schüttelten, als wäre er ein Zelt, und sie dachten, er würde auf sie stürzen (da sprachen Wir): ""Haltet fest, was Wir euch gegeben haben, und seid eingedenk dessen, was darin steht, auf daß ihr gerettet werdet."""

7.172. "Und als dein Herr aus den Kindern Adams - aus ihren Lenden - ihre Nachkommenschaft hervorbrachte und sie zu Zeugen wider sich selbst machte (indem Er sprach): ""Bin Ich nicht euer Herr?"", sagten sie: ""Doch, wir bezeugen es."" (Dies,) damit ihr nicht am Tage der Auferstehung sprachet: ""Siehe, wir waren dessen unkundig."""

7.173. "Oder sprächet: ""Es waren bloß unsere Väter, die vordem Götzendiener waren, wir aber waren ein Geschlecht nach ihnen. Willst Du uns denn vernichten um dessentwillen, was die Verlogenen taten?"""

7.174. Also machen Wir die Zeichen klar, auf daß sie sich bekehren möchten.

7.175. Erzähle ihnen die Geschichte dessen, dem Wir Unsere Zeichen gaben, der aber an ihnen vorbeiglitt, so folgte Satan ihm nach, und er wurde einer der Irregegangenen.

7.176. Und hätten Wir es gewollt, Wir hätten ihn dadurch erhöhen können, doch er neigte der Erde zu und folgte seinem bösen Gelüst. Er gleicht daher einem Hunde: treibst du ihn fort, so lechzt er, und beachtest du ihn nicht, so lechzt er. Gerade so geht es Leuten, die Unsere Zeichen leugnen. Darum gib (ihnen) die Schilderung, auf daß sie sich besinnen.

7.177. Schlimm steht es mit Leuten, die Unsere Zeichen leugnen, und wider sich selbst haben sie gesündigt.

7.178. Wen Allah leitet, der ist auf dem rechten Pfade. Die Er aber zu Irrenden erklärt, das sind die Verlorenen.

7.179. Wir haben viele der Dschinn und der Menschen erschaffen, deren Ende die Hölle sein wird! Sie haben Herzen, und sie verstehen nicht, sie haben Augen, und sie sehen nicht, sie haben Ohren, und sie hören nicht. Sie sind wie das Vieh, ja sie sind weit ärger abgeirrt. Sie sind fürwahr unbedacht

7.180. Allahs sind die schönsten Namen, so rufet Ihn an mit ihnen. Und lasset jene sein, die Seine Namen verketzern, Ihnen soll Lohn werden nach ihrem Tun.

7.181. Und unter denen, die Wir erschufen, ist ein Volk, das mit der Wahrheit leitet und danach Gerechtigkeit übt.

7.182. Die aber Unsere Zeichen leugnen, die werden Wir (der Vernichtung) überantworten Schritt für Schritt, auf eine Weise, die sie nicht kennen.

7.183. Ich lasse ihnen die Zügel schießen, allein gewiß, Mein Plan ist machtvoll.

7.184. Haben sie denn nicht bedacht, daß ihr Gefährte nicht besessen ist? Er ist nichts als ein aufklärender Warner.

7.185. Haben sie denn nicht das Königreich der Himmel und der Erde gesehen und alle Dinge, die Allah geschaffen hat, und daß sich ihre Lebensfrist vielleicht schon dem Ende nähert? Woran sonst wollen sie wohl glauben nach diesem?

7.186. Wen Allah zum Irrenden erklärt, für den kann es keinen Führer geben. Und Er läßt sie in ihrer Widerspenstigkeit blindlings wandern.

7.187. "Sie werden dich nach der ""Stunde"" befragen, wann sie wohl eintreten wird? Sprich: ""Das Wissen darum ist bei meinem Herrn allein. Keiner als Er kann sie bekannt geben zu ihrer Zeit. Schwer lastet sie auf den Himmeln und auf der Erde. Sie soll über euch nur plötzlich hereinbrechen."" Sie befragen dich, als ob du über sie sehr wissensbegierig wärest. Sprich: ""Das Wissen darum ist bei Allah allein, doch die meisten Menschen wissen es nicht."""

7.188. "Sprich: ""Ich habe nicht die Macht, mir selbst zu nützen oder zu schaden, es sei denn wie Allah will. Und hätte ich Kenntnis von dem Verborgenen, wahrlich, ich hätte mir Fülle des Guten zu sichern vermocht, und Übles hätte mich nicht berührt. Ich bin ja nur ein Warner und ein Bringer froher Botschaft für ein gläubiges Volk."""

7.189. "Er ist es, Der euch erschuf aus einem einzigen Menschen, und von ihm machte Er sein Weib, daß er an ihr Erquickung finde. Und wenn er sie erkannt hat, dann trägt sie leichte Last und geht mit ihr herum. Und wenn sie schwer wird, dann beten beide zu Allah, ihrem Herrn: ""Wenn Du uns ein gesundes (Kind) gibst, so werden wir wahrlich unter den Dankbaren sein."""

7.190. Doch gibt Er ihnen dann ein gesundes (Kind), so schreiben sie Seine ihnen gewährte Gabe Göttern zu. Aber erhaben ist Allah über alles, was sie anbeten.

7.191. Wollen sie denn jene anbeten, die nichts erschaffen können und selbst Erschaffene sind?

7.192. Und sie vermögen ihnen keine Hilfe zu gewähren, noch können sie sich selber helfen.

7.193. Und wenn ihr sie zum rechten Pfad ruft, dann folgen sie euch nicht. Es ist ganz gleich für euch, ob ihr sie ruft oder ob ihr schweigt.

7.194. Jene, die ihr statt Allah anruft, sind Menschen wie ihr selber. Rufet sie denn an und laßt sie euch Antwort geben, wenn ihr wahrhaft seid.

7.195. "Haben sie etwa Füße, damit zu gehen, oder haben sie Hände, damit zu greifen, oder haben sie Augen, damit zu sehen, oder haben sie Ohren, damit zu hören? Sprich: ""Rufet eure Götter an, dann schmiedet Listen wider mich und lasset mir keine Zeit."

7.196. Mein Beschützer ist Allah, Der das Buch herabgesandt hat. Und Er beschützt die Rechtschaffenem

7.197. "Die aber, die ihr statt Ihn anruft, sie vermögen euch nicht zu helfen, noch können sie sich selber helfen."""

7.198. Und wenn ihr sie zum rechten Pfad ruft, so hören sie nicht. Und du siehst sie nach dir schauen, doch sie sehen nicht.

7.199. Übe Nachsicht und gebiete Gütigkeit und wende dich ab von den Unwissenden.

7.200. Und wenn eine böse Einflüsterung von Satan dich anreizt, dann nimm deine Zuflucht bei Allah, wahrlich, Er ist allhörend, allwissend.

7.201. Die dann gottesfürchtig sind, wenn eine Heimsuchung durch Satan sie trifft, und dann sich erinnern, siehe, da beginnen sie zu sehen.

7.202. Und ihre Brüder helfen dazu, daß sie im Irrtum fortfahren, und dann lassen sie nicht nach.

7.203. "Wenn du ihnen nicht ein Zeichen bringst, sagen sie: ""Warum erfindest du es nicht?"" Sprich: ""Ich folge nur dem, was mir von meinem Herrn offenbart ward. Dies hier sind klare Beweise von eurem Herrn und eine Führung und Barmherzigkeit für ein gläubiges Volk."""

7.204. Wenn der Koran vorgetragen wird, so leihet ihm das Ohr und schweiget, auf daß ihr Erbarmen findet.

7.205. Und gedenke deines Herrn in deiner Seele in Demut und Furcht und ohne laute Worte des morgens und des abends, und sei nicht der Nachläßigen einer.

7.206. Die deinem Herrn nahe sind, sie wenden sich nicht hoffärtig ab von Seinem Dienst, sondern sie lobpreisen Ihn und werfen sich vor Ihm nieder.

7.32. Qul man harrama zeenata Allahi allatee akhraja liAAibadihi waalttayyibati mina alrrizqi qul hiya lillatheena amanoo fee alhayati alddunya khalisatan yawma alqiyamati kathalika nufassilu al-ayati liqawmin yaAAlamoona

7.33. Qul innama harrama rabbiya alfawahisha ma thahara minha wama batana waal-ithma waalbaghya bighayri alhaqqi waan tushrikoo biAllahi ma lam yunazzil bihi sultanan waan taqooloo AAala Allahi ma la taAAlamoona

7.34. Walikulli ommatin ajalun fa-itha jaa ajaluhum la yasta/khiroona saAAatan wala yastaqdimoona

7.35. Ya banee adama imma ya/tiyannakum rusulun minkum yaqussoona AAalaykum ayatee famani ittaqa waaslaha fala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona

7.36. Waallatheena kaththaboo bi-ayatina waistakbaroo AAanha ola-ika as-habu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona

Qala odkhuloo fee omamin qad khalat min qablikum mina aljinni waal-insi fee alnnari kullama dakhalat ommatun laAAanat okhtaha hatta itha iddarakoo feeha jameeAAan qalat okhrahum li-oolahum rabbana haola-i adalloona faatihim AAathaban diAAfan mina alnnari qala likullin diAAfun walakin la taAAlamoona

7.39. Waqalat oolahum li-okhrahum fama kana lakum AAalayna min fadlin fathooqoo alAAathaba bima kuntum taksiboona

7.40. Inna allatheena kaththaboo bi-ayatina waistakbaroo AAanha la tufattahu lahum abwabu alssama-i wala yadkhuloona aljannata hatta yalija aljamalu fee sammi alkhiyati wakathalika najzee almujrimeena

7.41. Lahum min jahannama mihadun wamin fawqihim ghawashin wakathalika najzee alththalimeena

7.42. Waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati la nukallifu nafsan illa wusAAaha ola-ika as-habu aljannati hum feeha khalidoona

7.43. WanazaAAna ma fee sudoorihim min ghillin tajree min tahtihimu al-anharu waqaloo alhamdu lillahi allathee hadana lihatha wama kunna linahtadiya lawla an hadana Allahu laqad jaat rusulu rabbina bialhaqqi wanoodoo an tilkumu aljannatu oorithtumooha bima kuntum taAAmaloona

7.44. Wanada as-habu aljannati as-haba alnnari an qad wajadna ma waAAadana rabbuna haqqan fahal wajadtum ma waAAada rabbukum haqqan qaloo naAAam faaththana mu-aththinun baynahum an laAAnatu Allahi AAala alththalimeena

7.45. Allatheena yasuddoona AAan sabeeli Allahi wayabghoonaha AAiwajan wahum bial-akhirati kafiroona

7.46. Wabaynahuma hijabun waAAala al-aAArafi rijalun yaAArifoona kullan biseemahum wanadaw as-haba aljannati an salamun AAalaykum lam yadkhulooha wahum yatmaAAoona

7.47. Wa-itha surifat absaruhum tilqaa as-habi alnnari qaloo rabbana la tajAAalna maAAa alqawmi alththalimeena

7.48. Wanada as-habu al-aAArafi rijalan yaAArifoonahum biseemahum qaloo ma aghna AAankum jamAAukum wama kuntum tastakbiroona

7.49. Ahaola-i allatheena aqsamtum la yanaluhumu Allahu birahmatin odkhuloo aljannata la khawfun AAalaykum wala antum tahzanoona

7.50. Wanada as-habu alnari as-haba aljannati an afeedoo AAalayna mina alma-i aw mimma razaqakumu Allahu qaloo inna Allaha harramahuma AAala alkafireena

7.51. Allatheena ittakhathoo deenahum lahwan walaAAiban wagharrat-humu alhayatu alddunya faalyawma nansahum kama nasoo liqaa yawmihim hatha wama kanoo bi-ayatina yajhadoona

7.52. Walaqad ji/nahum bikitabin fassalnahu AAala AAilmin hudan warahmatan liqawmin yu/minoona

7.53. Hal yanthuroona illa ta/weelahu yawma ya/tee ta/weeluhu yaqoolu allatheena nasoohu min qablu qad jaat rusulu rabbina bialhaqqi fahal lana min shufaAAaa fayashfaAAoo lana aw nuraddu fanaAAmala ghayra allathee kunna naAAmalu qad khasiroo anfusahum wadalla AAanhum ma kanoo yaftaroona

7.54. Inna rabbakumu Allahu allathee khalaqa alssamawati waal-arda fee sittati ayyamin thumma istawa AAala alAAarshi yughshee allayla alnnahara yatlubuhu hatheethan waalshshamsa waalqamara waalnnujooma musakhkharatin bi-amrihi ala lahu alkhalqu waal-amru tabaraka Allahu rabbu alAAalameena

7.55. OdAAoo rabbakum tadarruAAan wakhufyatan innahu la yuhibbu almuAAtadeena

7.56. Wala tufsidoo fee al-ardi baAAda islahiha waodAAoohu khawfan watamaAAan inna rahmata Allahi qareebun mina almuhsineena

7.57. Wahuwa allathee yursilu alrriyaha bushran bayna yaday rahmatihi hatta itha aqallat sahaban thiqalan suqnahu libaladin mayyitin faanzalna bihi almaa faakhrajna bihi min kulli alththamarati kathalika nukhriju almawta laAAallakum tathakkaroona

7.58. Waalbaladu alttayyibu yakhruju nabatuhu bi-ithni rabbihi waallathee khabutha la yakhruju illa nakidan kathalika nusarrifu al-ayati liqawmin yashkuroona

7.59. Laqad arsalna noohan ila qawmihi faqala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu innee akhafu AAalaykum AAathaba yawmin AAatheemin

7.60. Qala almalao min qawmihi inna lanaraka fee dalalin mubeenin

7.61. Qala ya qawmi laysa bee dalalatun walakinnee rasoolun min rabbi alAAalameena

7.62. Oballighukum risalati rabbee waansahu lakum waaAAlamu mina Allahi ma la taAAlamoona

7.63. Awa AAajibtum an jaakum thikrun min rabbikum AAala rajulin minkum liyunthirakum walitattaqoo walaAAallakum turhamoona

7.64. Fakaththaboohu faanjaynahu waallatheena maAAahu fee alfulki waaghraqna allatheena kaththaboo bi-ayatina innahum kanoo qawman AAameena

7.65. Wa-ila AAadin akhahum hoodan qala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu afala tattaqoona

7.66. Qala almalao allatheena kafaroo min qawmihi inna lanaraka fee safahatin wa-inna lanathunnuka mina alkathibeena

7.67. Qala ya qawmi laysa bee safahatun walakinnee rasoolun min rabbi alAAalameena

7.68. Oballighukum risalati rabbee waana lakum nasihun ameenun

7.71. Qala qad waqaAAa AAalaykum min rabbikum rijsun waghadabun atujadiloonanee fee asma-in sammaytumooha antum waabaokum ma nazzala Allahu biha min sultanin faintathiroo innee maAAakum mina almuntathireena

7.72. Faanjaynahu waallatheena maAAahu birahmatin minna waqataAAna dabira allatheena kaththaboo bi-ayatina wama kanoo mu/mineena

7.73. Wa-ila thamooda akhahum salihan qala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha ma lakum min ilahin ghayruhu qad jaatkum bayyinatun min rabbikum hathihi naqatu Allahi lakum ayatan fatharooha ta/kul fee ardi Allahi wala tamassooha bisoo-in faya/khuthakum AAathabun aleemun

7.74. Waothkuroo ith jaAAalakum khulafaa min baAAdi AAadin wabawwaakum fee al-ardi tattakhithoona min suhooliha qusooran watanhitoona aljibala buyootan faothkuroo alaa Allahi wala taAAthaw fee al-ardi mufsideena

7.75. Qala almalao allatheena istakbaroo min qawmihi lillatheena istudAAifoo liman amana minhum ataAAlamoona anna salihan mursalun min rabbihi qaloo inna bima orsila bihi mu/minoona

7.76. Qala allatheena istakbaroo inna biallathee amantum bihi kafiroona

7.77. FaAAaqaroo alnnaqata waAAataw AAan amri rabbihim waqaloo ya salihu i/tina bima taAAiduna in kunta mina almursaleena

7.87. Wa-in kana ta-ifatun minkum amanoo biallathee orsiltu bihi wata-ifatun lam yu/minoo faisbiroo hatta yahkuma Allahu baynana wahuwa khayru alhakimeena

7.96. Walaw anna ahla alqura amanoo waittaqaw lafatahna AAalayhim barakatin mina alssama-i waal-ardi walakin kaththaboo faakhathnahum bima kanoo yaksiboona

Walamma jaa moosa limeeqatina wakallamahu rabbuhu qala rabbi arinee anthur ilayka qala lan taranee walakini onthur ila aljabali fa-ini istaqarra makanahu fasawfa taranee falamma tajalla rabbuhu liljabali jaAAalahu dakkan wakharra moosa saAAiqan falamma afaqa qala subhanaka tubtu ilayka waana awwalu almu/mineena

7.144. Qala ya moosa innee istafaytuka AAala alnnasi birisalatee wabikalamee fakhuth ma ataytuka wakun mina alshshakireena

7.148. Waittakhatha qawmu moosa min baAAdihi min huliyyihim AAijlan jasadan lahu khuwarun alam yaraw annahu la yukallimuhum wala yahdeehim sabeelan ittakhathoohu wakanoo thalimeena

Walamma rajaAAa moosa ila qawmihi ghadbana asifan qala bi/sama khalaftumoonee min baAAdee aAAajiltum amra rabbikum waalqa al-alwaha waakhatha bira/si akheehi yajurruhu ilayhi qala ibna omma inna alqawma istadAAafoonee wakadoo yaqtuloonanee fala tushmit biya al-aAAdaa wala tajAAalnee maAAa alqawmi alththalimeena

Allatheena yattabiAAoona alrrasoola alnnabiyya al-ommiyya allathee yajidoonahu maktooban AAindahum fee alttawrati waal-injeeli ya/muruhum bialmaAAroofi wayanhahum AAani almunkari wayuhillu lahumu alttayyibati wayuharrimu AAalayhimu alkhaba-itha wayadaAAu AAanhum israhum waal-aghlala allatee kanat AAalayhim faallatheena amanoo bihi waAAazzaroohu wanasaroohu waittabaAAoo alnnoora allathee onzila maAAahu ola-ika humu almuflihoona

7.158. Qul ya ayyuha alnnasu innee rasoolu Allahi ilaykum jameeAAan allathee lahu mulku alssamawati waal-ardi la ilaha illa huwa yuhyee wayumeetu faaminoo biAllahi warasoolihi alnnabiyyi al-ommiyyi allathee yu/minu biAllahi wakalimatihi waittabiAAoohu laAAallakum tahtadoona

7.159. Wamin qawmi moosa ommatun yahdoona bialhaqqi wabihi yaAAdiloona

7.160. WaqattaAAnahumu ithnatay AAashrata asbatan omaman waawhayna ila moosa ithi istasqahu qawmuhu ani idrib biAAasaka alhajara fainbajasat minhu ithnata AAashrata AAaynan qad AAalima kullu onasin mashrabahum wathallalna AAalayhimu alghamama waanzalna AAalayhimu almanna waalssalwa kuloo min tayyibati ma razaqnakum wama thalamoona walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona

7.165. Falamma nasoo ma thukkiroo bihi anjayna allatheena yanhawna AAani alssoo-i waakhathna allatheena thalamoo biAAathabin ba-eesin bima kanoo yafsuqoona

7.166. Falamma AAataw AAan ma nuhoo AAanhu qulna lahum koonoo qiradatan khasi-eena

7.167. Wa-ith taaththana rabbuka layabAAathanna AAalayhim ila yawmi alqiyamati man yasoomuhum soo-a alAAathabi inna rabbaka lasareeAAu alAAiqabi wa-innahu laghafoorun raheemun

Fakhalafa min baAAdihim khalfun warithoo alkitaba ya/khuthoona AAarada hatha al-adna wayaqooloona sayughfaru lana wa-in ya/tihim AAaradun mithluhu ya/khuthoohu alam yu/khath AAalayhim meethaqu alkitabi an la yaqooloo AAala Allahi illa alhaqqa wadarasoo ma feehi waalddaru al-akhiratu khayrun lillatheena yattaqoona afala taAAqiloona

7.170. Waallatheena yumassikoona bialkitabi waaqamoo alssalata inna la nudeeAAu ajra almusliheena

7.171. Wa-ith nataqna aljabala fawqahum kaannahu thullatun wathannoo annahu waqiAAun bihim khuthoo ma ataynakum biquwwatin waothkuroo ma feehi laAAallakum tattaqoona

7.172. Wa-ith akhatha rabbuka min banee adama min thuhoorihim thurriyyatahum waashhadahum AAala anfusihim alastu birabbikum qaloo bala shahidna an taqooloo yawma alqiyamati inna kunna AAan hatha ghafileena

7.173. Aw taqooloo innama ashraka abaona min qablu wakunna thurriyyatan min baAAdihim afatuhlikuna bima faAAala almubtiloona

7.174. Wakathalika nufassilu al-ayati walaAAallahum yarjiAAoona

7.175. Waotlu AAalayhim nabaa allathee ataynahu ayatina fainsalakha minha faatbaAAahu alshshaytanu fakana mina alghaweena

7.176. Walaw shi/na larafaAAnahu biha walakinnahu akhlada ila al-ardi waittabaAAa hawahu famathaluhu kamathali alkalbi in tahmil AAalayhi yalhath aw tatruk-hu yalhath thalika mathalu alqawmi allatheena kaththaboo bi-ayatina faoqsusi alqasasa laAAallahum yatafakkaroona

7.177. Saa mathalan alqawmu allatheena kaththaboo bi-ayatina waanfusahum kanoo yathlimoona

7.178. Man yahdi Allahu fahuwa almuhtadee waman yudlil faola-ika humu alkhasiroona

7.179. Walaqad thara/na lijahannama katheeran mina aljinni waal-insi lahum quloobun la yafqahoona biha walahum aAAyunun la yubsiroona biha walahum athanun la yasmaAAoona biha ola-ika kaal-anAAami bal hum adallu ola-ika humu alghafiloona

7.180. Walillahi al-asmao alhusna faodAAoohu biha watharoo allatheena yulhidoona fee asma-ihi sayujzawna ma kanoo yaAAmaloona

7.181. Wamimman khalaqna ommatun yahdoona bialhaqqi wabihi yaAAdiloona

7.182. Waallatheena kaththaboo bi-ayatina sanastadrijuhum min haythu la yaAAlamoona

7.183. Waomlee lahum inna kaydee mateenun

7.184. Awa lam yatafakkaroo ma bisahibihim min jinnatin in huwa illa natheerun mubeenun

7.185. Awalam yanthuroo fee malakooti alssamawati waal-ardi wama khalaqa Allahu min shay-in waan AAasa an yakoona qadi iqtaraba ajaluhum fabi-ayyi hadeethin baAAdahu yu/minoona

7.186. Man yudlili Allahu fala hadiya lahu wayatharuhum fee tughyanihim yaAAmahoona

7.187. Yas-aloonaka AAani alssaAAati ayyana mursaha qul innama AAilmuha AAinda rabbee la yujalleeha liwaqtiha illa huwa thaqulat fee alssamawati waal-ardi la ta/teekum illa baghtatan yas-aloonaka kaannaka hafiyyun AAanha qul innama AAilmuha AAinda Allahi walakinna akthara alnnasi la yaAAlamoona

7.188. Qul la amliku linafsee nafAAan wala darran illa ma shaa Allahu walaw kuntu aAAlamu alghayba laistakthartu mina alkhayri wama massaniya alssoo-o in ana illa natheerun wabasheerun liqawmin yu/minoona

7.189. Huwa allathee khalaqakum min nafsin wahidatin wajaAAala minha zawjaha liyaskuna ilayha falamma taghashshaha hamalat hamlan khafeefan famarrat bihi falamma athqalat daAAawa Allaha rabbahuma la-in ataytana salihan lanakoonanna mina alshshakireena

7.190. Falamma atahuma salihan jaAAala lahu shurakaa feema atahuma fataAAala Allahu AAamma yushrikoona

7.191. Ayushrikoona ma la yakhluqu shay-an wahum yukhlaqoona

7.192. Wala yastateeAAoona lahum nasran wala anfusahum yansuroona

7.193. Wa-in tadAAoohum ila alhuda la yattabiAAookum sawaon AAalaykum adaAAawtumoohum am antum samitoona

7.194. Inna allatheena tadAAoona min dooni Allahi AAibadun amthalukum faodAAoohum falyastajeeboo lakum in kuntum sadiqeena

7.195. Alahum arjulun yamshoona biha am lahum aydin yabtishoona biha am lahum aAAyunun yubsiroona biha am lahum athanun yasmaAAoona biha quli odAAoo shurakaakum thumma keedooni fala tunthirooni

7.196. Inna waliyyiya Allahu allathee nazzala alkitaba wahuwa yatawalla alssaliheena

7.197. Waallatheena tadAAoona min doonihi la yastateeAAoona nasrakum wala anfusahum yansuroona

7.198. Wa-in tadAAoohum ila alhuda la yasmaAAoo watarahum yanthuroona ilayka wahum la yubsiroona

7.199. Khuthi alAAafwa wa/mur bialAAurfi waaAArid AAani aljahileena

7.200. Wa-imma yanzaghannaka mina alshshaytani nazghun faistaAAith biAllahi innahu sameeAAun AAaleemun

7.201. Inna allatheena ittaqaw itha massahum ta-ifun mina alshshaytani tathakkaroo fa-itha hum mubsiroona

7.202. Wa-ikhwanuhum yamuddoonahum fee alghayyi thumma la yuqsiroona

7.203. Wa-itha lam ta/tihim bi-ayatin qaloo lawla ijtabaytaha qul innama attabiAAu ma yooha ilayya min rabbee hatha basa-iru min rabbikum wahudan warahmatun liqawmin yu/minoona

7.204. Wa-itha quri-a alqur-anu faistamiAAoo lahu waansitoo laAAallakum turhamoona

7.205. Waothkur rabbaka fee nafsika tadarruAAan wakheefatan wadoona aljahri mina alqawli bialghuduwwi waal-asali wala takun mina alghafileena
